Power flashes on but quickly turns off and stays off , the led lights on boards are on, that?s with or without any component connected to the Eclipse SLI motherboards.
It?s like if the power supply can?t take the surge to turn on, Im using a 1200watts PS. put I also tried a new power supply and same problem. This happens also when I use the on board reset button.

When you get to the last resort re-seat your processor. Worked for me under the same exact conditions you describe.

Once you post all your system components, it will make it much easier to troubleshoot. As an interim, initialize with just 1 mem. stick in the black A0 slot, clear CMOS with the power cord removed, & in a 'barebones' configuration outside the case as Svet recommended.

I have disassembled all components and reassembles one at a time and the problem continues intermittently with different components installed, Computer if it turn on works with no problem put it will not turn on again once shot down, then I try trouble shooting again, even if all it has is just the motherboard connected to PS the fan turns on and quickly turn off. I return the PS supply to Termaltake they return a different one back but the problem persist, Then return the Motherboard to MSI and they return the same boards back the problem persist. I think the problem is the Motherboard put who do I convince? and to much money to just purchase a new one?

Thank for interest

Well FreddiePR, I ran that same Thermaltake 1200W model on my P7N D. for 11 months, & after shut down, the computer would not start without turning the PSU switch on & off, with a time delay in between, for several cycles. The computer would then start again & be fine until shut down again. After a long shutdown/cool down period, all was normal for start. I have read of others having the same issue. That PSU was retired & replaced with the new Thermaltake 850W XT 'Single +12V Rail' model. Recommend giving some serious thought to trying another PSU model.

As a side note, your running a considerable number of HDD's. It may be that the 'Southbridge', ICH10R (ICH), may need a bit of a boost in voltage.

Also, are you using the 4-pin atx power cable to the motherboard or the 8-pin?

The Eclipse comes with a cap over 4 of teh 8 pins which might suggest to some people to use the 4-pin cable, but the manual clearly says (and from experience the mobo actually requires) the 8-pin cable.

Having the wrong atx power feed to the board would also give the symptoms you describe...

Has the board worked previously?
