Power Limit/EDP Throttling
Lately my GT72 2QE is unable to even run at stock speeds before throttling starts.  Temperature and CPU/GPU are both low. I can restore consistent performance by using Throttlestop to disable Turbo on the CPU.

Do I need custom BIOS/vBIOS to increase power limits or is it something else like a failing AC Adapter since it's proabbly reasonable to expect stock bios can run at stock speed without throttle

Could you bring more details about the [Throttling]?

Besides, I would recommend using latest Help Desk to export the system info and post the text information in here.

If i don't lower system voltge and max turbo boost as below, the system willl get very hot and throttle the Cpu back down whic makes gaming impossible. When it was new the laptop could run at the default clock speed without stuttering and lagging or getting hot.

What is the temperature on idle status? You could check the temperature/loading info in Dragon Gaming Center.

High loading will bring more heat for CPU/GPU. It will be normal that system will reach high temperature if CPU is running with high intensity usage. But we still could improve the heat sink performance by cleaning the thermal module/fan with a small brush or air duster gun.

Idle temp is about 38 degrees.
@ stock voltage and multiplier the temperature climbs to 95+ in less than a minute, but immediately cools down when load is removed. At the above settings it is stable at around 60 degrees. The heatsinks were recently cleaned and the laptop sits on an elevated cooling pad. I've ordered some liquid metal notebook pads in case the factory thermal pads have gone bad
