I've had this laptop for several months now and it's been great. I often use it closed on my desk, docked to a Dell WD19TBS driving my 3 monitors and connected to all my peripherals. It works fine, but it's a pain in the butt to have to slide the laptop out from under a monitor, crack it open, press the power button, and close the lid again quickly enough that it configures my monitors correctly.

So my question is: Is there any way to go from OFF (not sleeping) to On from the dock or from an external keyboard? My dock has thunderbolt, but the laptop does not; just a USB-C ("USB 3.2 Gen 2/DP(w/PD3.0 Chargin)").

MSI docking station gen 2 would be able to work like this, you can press the power button on the dock to power on all of the connected devices.

You can power on your laptop by changing the g3 state to s0 in the advanced bios. Laptop will then turn on automatically when you plug in the charger. I think it is better solution then playing with laptop's lid XD
