hi,

i have a msi codex S and recently i split with my girlfriend and had to move back to the parents for a brief period. so when i went to use my pc to download and print tickets i plugged my pc into a extension cable of four. the pc blew up slightly and some smoke came out and the power supply is fried, the extension cable was surge protected. i cannot for the life of me find a replacement or something simlier to replace it, so i was wondering if anybody could help? im UK based and i know some details of the power supply like 500W 80 Plus Silver(ATX) and its a slim box. all i want todo is have my pc back to play some games when bored.

Which Codex S is it? 8th, 9th, 10th?

Your best bet it to disconnect all the cables from the PSU and take it out (you're gonna have to do that anyway), then post a photo of it here that also shows the sticker on it. If it's an SFX or SFX-L form factor, it won't be too hard finding an aftermarket replacement of good quality. If it's something specific to the Codex S, meaning a proprietary form factor, then you're probably gonna have to ask MSI how to get one.
