I updated my motherboard BIOS to version 7D43v1M because I plan to upgrade my CPU from i5-12400 to i5-14600K. However, after the update, neither the front nor rear headphone jacks are being recognized.

I searched online and found some suggestions to downgrade the BIOS, but since I am planning to upgrade to a 14th Gen CPU, that is not an option for me.

For troubleshooting, I have already tried the following after the BIOS update:

Clearing CMOS

Reinstalling Realtek audio drivers

Enabling and disabling the audio option in the BIOS

Unfortunately, none of these solved the problem.

I heard that Mr. Alan T has a beta BIOS version here that fixes 14th‑gen optimization and audio issues. That is why I am reaching out.

Thank you for your support.

Solution
We would like you to try the following method for Audio recovery
Make sure to flash back to the previous working BIOS first

This will be on your motherboard support page
The second-to-last bios released in 2023 will be the one you want

Once the BIOS recovers the audio, follow the steps below

Download the Svet tool and the latest BIOS, then update the BIOS with the Svet BIOS update tool.
This method has proven successful without the need for a patched BIOS to be used.
Download the tool from the link:

Thank you, Alan J T.
Thanks to you, I was able to resolve the problem completely.
I had spent the whole day dealing with this issue and even considered returning the CPU I bought.
Because of your help, I was able to upgrade my CPU.
I wish you all the best and may blessings be with you.

I could also ask for help updating to the latest version of the PRO B660M-A WIFI DDR4 motherboard, as the last working version with sound is for the 7D43v1E.Please contact me.

I also used a translator.

EDIT.

Thanks for the help Alan J T

Kinda crazy that this problem is still around and MSI still hasn’t fixed it with an official BIOS update. I bought a system second hand (PRO B660M-A WIFI DDR4, i5-12500) and, as usual, updated the BIOS to the latest version. Alas, no sound. After a bit of quick research, I figured out what’s going on. I downgraded to 7D43v1E and sound is working again. As of now, are there any known fixes to run the newest BIOS without having to RMA the board? RMA isn’t an option for me. Am I missing any major fixes or improvements for a 12th-gen CPU by staying on 7D43v1E? Since this is still a pretty recent thread, it’s obvious that people are still running into this issue (me included ;-) ). Any new info or help is appreciated. Thanks!

Hi, I also have no working audio jack and sound after updating bios to the latest 7D43v1N1. RMA is not an option for me as I need the computer 24/7. Are there any fixes for the newest bios?

Hello Alan,
I've been having the same issue regarding the audio on a MSI PRO B760M-P DDR4. I have no sound and the onboard card remains undetected even after trying multiple BIOS updates, each time forcing me to downgrade to the 7E02v16 to fix the issue. Thing is, that was released all the way back in September 2023 and I'm missing out on 2 years worth of updates.

The last official version for my motherboard is 7E02v1F, which is from August 2025, and the audio problem still persists. It would be great if you could help me with a working/updated version of this. Thank you in advance!
