I updated my motherboard BIOS to version 7D43v1M because I plan to upgrade my CPU from i5-12400 to i5-14600K. However, after the update, neither the front nor rear headphone jacks are being recognized.

I searched online and found some suggestions to downgrade the BIOS, but since I am planning to upgrade to a 14th Gen CPU, that is not an option for me.

For troubleshooting, I have already tried the following after the BIOS update:

Clearing CMOS

Reinstalling Realtek audio drivers

Enabling and disabling the audio option in the BIOS

Unfortunately, none of these solved the problem.

I heard that Mr. Alan T has a beta BIOS version here that fixes 14th‑gen optimization and audio issues. That is why I am reaching out.

Please note: this message was translated using a translation tool, so I apologize if the wording seems awkward or impolite.

Thank you for your support.

Solution
We would like you to try the following method for Audio recovery
Make sure to flash back to the previous working BIOS first

This will be on your motherboard support page
The second-to-last bios released in 2023 will be the one you want

Once the BIOS recovers the audio, follow the steps below

Download the Svet tool and the latest BIOS, then update the BIOS with the Svet BIOS update tool.
This method has proven successful without the need for a patched BIOS to be used.
Download the tool from the link:

Hi all,
Big thanks to OP for starting the thread.

Alan, I'm in the same situation. b660m-a Wifi stuck on BIOS version 7D43v1I. Reluctant to update straight to official bios after getting audio back. Keen to get microcode updates for the 14th gen i7 patiently waiting on my shelf.
Could I ask for the same solution as the folks above?

Cheers,
Fil

EDIT: DDR4 model

Hello, Alan

I'm having the same problem. My MSI PRO B660M-A DDR4 motherboard, with an Intel Core i5-12600K 3.7 GHz processor and the latest official BIOS (version 7D43v1M), does not provide sound through the audio connector. I have already installed the Realtek drivers ("realtek_audio_R" file) but the sound device does not appear in the Windows device manager. Could you please also send me the solution to the problem?

Thank you very much.
João

Hey it seems I have the same problem, no matter what I plug or do, no jack detection is happening. I have version M I think, and I dunno if the N beta version will work. Any ideas please? Can somebody share the BIOS or something? thanks! (using the non-WiFi version)

Can you help me? I am also dealing with this issue when updating my bios on my msi pro b660m-a ddr4. I can only use what i think is update 7D43v1E. Ive had this problem for a while. From what I remember, realtek audio shows in my device manager but only under some hidden section when i update to any later update, forcing me to stay on 7D43v1E.
