I updated my motherboard BIOS to version 7D43v1M because I plan to upgrade my CPU from i5-12400 to i5-14600K. However, after the update, neither the front nor rear headphone jacks are being recognized.

I searched online and found some suggestions to downgrade the BIOS, but since I am planning to upgrade to a 14th Gen CPU, that is not an option for me.

For troubleshooting, I have already tried the following after the BIOS update:

Clearing CMOS

Reinstalling Realtek audio drivers

Enabling and disabling the audio option in the BIOS

Unfortunately, none of these solved the problem.

I heard that Mr. Alan T has a beta BIOS version here that fixes 14thโ€‘gen optimization and audio issues. That is why I am reaching out.

Please note: this message was translated using a translation tool, so I apologize if the wording seems awkward or impolite.

Thank you for your support.

We would like you to try the following method for Audio recovery
Make sure to flash back to the previous working BIOS first

This will be on your motherboard support page
The second-to-last bios released in 2023 will be the one you want

Once the BIOS recovers the audio, follow the steps below

Download the Svet tool and the latest BIOS, then update the BIOS with the Svet BIOS update tool.
This method has proven successful without the need for a patched BIOS to be used.
Download the tool from the link:

Hi!

A new BIOS version (7D43v1N) has just been released for the PRO-B660M-A-DDR4 motherboard. Those who, like me, had the sound problem and fixed it following Alan's instructions, should not update to any other new version? Do all subsequent versions have this sound problem?

Thanks.

Solution
Hey all,

I am having the same issue with my B760M-P DDR4. I had upgraded my processer to a higher end 13th gen core i7 processor and updated my bios.

Realtek no longer appears as an audio device. Reinstalling the drivers etc has no resolution. Since my last bios update there is ANOTHER one which is version 7E02v1G...

I guess @Alan J T has some kind of a patch to fix the issue?

Thanks!

I have downgraded all the way back to 7E02v19 and it's still missing...

This one first
Then use the svet tool to update the BIOS

Flashing to this BIOS will not void the warranty

If the BIOS recovers the audio, follow the steps below

Roll back to the last working bios and then update the BIOS with the Svet BIOS update tool. This has worked so far without the need for the other patched Bios to be used.

Thank you! Sound came back with the v16 bios!

If I understand correctly I can now update bios to the most modern with the help of this tool and things should still work?

**EDIT: I updated to latest version using the utility and sound is still present! Thank you so much!!!!**

Thanks!

hi @Alan J T, I am having the same issue after updating to BIOS version 7D43v1O via MSI Center.
Can you PM me the full guide to the audio jack recovery?

Thanks.
