Hi everyone,
I recently purchased this new X870-P WIFI motherboard and it doesn't seem like the wifi antenna is being recognized by the system at all. I have Windows 11, 32gb of RAM and a Ryzen 7 9700x. When I plug in the wifi antenna, I don't receive any notification of new hardware being plugged in. I've updated all drivers both in MSI Center and Windows Update, but nothing seems to be happening. If I unplug my USB wifi adapter, I instantly lose connectivity and there's no option to connect to wifi through another means.

Here's a screenshot of my devices. I'm not even sure which one would be the antenna. Any help on this would be really appreciated; I would love to connect to a faster connection than my USB dongle allows.

Known issue with the x870 boards.
What helped me:
1. Get into bios using del while booting
2. Restore system default settings , save by pressing f10
3. Reboot, use m flash and a prepared USB device and install the latest bios.
(Some have problems with the latest December release from yesterday, so maybe consider the version from november)

4. Boot into windows. If your WLAN Controller is recognized install the latest Qualcomm driver. If not repeat step 2.

That worked for me. For others only a cmos reset did the job so consider that if the steps before did not help.

Just tried this twice and still no luck. No WLAN controller appears in the device manager.

Have you try to download Wifi driver manually from MSI support page?, don't trust MSI Center & windows update.

I've downloaded the drivers, but there isn't even a device in the Device Manager to update them to. If I Add Drivers from Device Manager and navigate to where I extracted them, I get a "successfully installed drivers to 0 devices" message.

Try a full CMOS clear and boot up on the default setting and see if it is in the device manager
Power off and Unplug the PSU and short Jbat1 for over 60 seconds

I don't know if this might help, as i don't have the board. In BIOS setting, locate PCIE lanes and set the configuration to Auto, and try install manually, first Realtek PCI-E Ethernet Drivers, then Qualcom wifi drivers. This issue basically relate to your BIOS setting. If you can snap picture of your BIOS setting, i think it can help others to identify where it goes wrong.

Tried this and still nothing.

Here are a couple of screenshots, though it seems like it's set up properly:
The options for Onboard wi-fi/BT module control were to either choose Auto, Wifi Only, BT only or Both. Doing Wifi only didn't achieve anything either.

Certainly, looks good. But you can try to disable ASPM and enable SR-IOV support. You should know that Network adaptor attached to PCIE lane... ASPM L0 means that system set a low power consumptions to PCIE lanes. If all that still doesn't works, either your CPU socket got some pin bends or the connection between wifi module and motherboard itself broken...

Well, I disabled ASPM, enabled SR-IOV, cleared the CMOS multiple times and did a fresh Windows 11 install. Scanned and installed all drivers, and the WLAN still doesn't appear in the Device Manager. I guess it's time to go the RMA route and hope the next one works.
Thank you to everyone for the help. You've all been much more helpful than official MSI support has been (whose advice amounted to "turn off you PC and turn it back on" followed by "Here's the RMA form" (which apparently isn't accepted in Canada...?)

I am using the latest Windows 11 2024H2 on an MSI 870 Pro Wifi with a Ryzen 9950X and with the latest Bios as of today. I installed Windows from scratch and ensured the drivers for Bluetooth and WiFi were the latest drivers published by MSI. Same issue as reported by OP. Wifi was not listed in device manager and thus did not work, but Bluetooth worked. Restarts and resetting the Bios did not help.

What did help was to switch off my PC, unplug it, then reset the Bios by pressing the small black reset button at the back of the motherboard for a few seconds. On restart, both Bluetooth and WiFi worked. Thst was yesterday and today, they continue to work despite multiple restarts and sleeps in between. Fingers crossed.

Msi, if you are reading this, please ask your engineers to keep tracking down this issue. It is clearly not yet fixed with the latest Bios. However, I am grateful at least the Bios reset and (very) cold boot did the trick. Great motherboard besides this issue.

I woke up this morning to the same problem. Just did what you mentioned with the button on the back and it worked. Thank you!

I noticed if you have ethernet (rj45) plugged in when you turn on your computer the wifi will dissappear. What i did was in bios under Advanced>integrated peripherals> on-board wifi/bt module controll. Change from auto to wifi then update the driver then change it back to auto. Now both show up even with ethernet plugged in.
Message me if you have further issues.

Hello, sorry for my English. I have the same problem!
I ordered assembly and delivery of the computer (with X870-P WIFI). I turn it on, there is NO WIFI AT ALL, the icon itself has disappeared from Windows. I can't even install the wifi driver, because there is nothing to install it on... These steps helped!!!
1) turning off the PC
2) turning off the power on the power supply and pressing the power button (to discharge the capacitors)
3) wait 10 seconds
4) turn everything back on

I resorted to using a TP-Link external USB Wi-Fi gadget which works OK

Hey gents,
Fellow PRO X-870 Wifi user here.
I just ran into this issue. PC fine yesterday, today WiFi would not show up in SYS Panel, WiFi wasn't showing up in Device Manager. The only proof I could find that I even had WiFi at one time was the device info remained in Network and Interface > Advanced Network Settings > Hardware and Connection Properties. See attached, under Status for Wifi, it shows "Not Present", even though all other information is still present.

I attempted with no change:
-Manually installing drivers I downloaded on a separate PC
-Network & Internet > Advanced Network Settings > Network Reset
-Toggled Wifi/Blutooth module on and off in Bios/UEFI.

I didn't try:
-Turning PC off and unplugging, leaving the PC sitting for a few minutes
-Per @tavik22154802d9

I did try and this worked:
-Turned PC off
-Unplugged PSU
-Used CMOS Reset button of rear of MOBO (5 second hold, I don't know if this matters)
-Per @chrisgleissne159b02de

If the issue returns I will update this here.
Thank you to those of you in the past that inadvertently helped this idiot.

This started to happen to me yesterday. I was running Ubuntu from a USB-C stick, when I rebooted after several hours to windows, Wifi was gone, also in ubuntu was gone.
Happened now twice in 2 days... looks like now I have to live with this issue...
I flashed today to the latest bios to see if helps.

Try to power off the system, remove the power cable, then press and hold the power button for 20 seconds to drain remaining power from the PSU.
After that power on the system and check if the issue is fixed.

Here is an video example:
