Speaking of something different, what could be the maximum safe LLC (Loadline calibration) for mild overclocks on an i7-12700K with this motherboard?
Right now I'm using Mode 6 which should have a VRM loadline of 0.55 Ohm. Intel specifications are 1.1 mOhm.

This happened to me too.
You need to register your microsoft account next time you install windows. Then you can reactivate.

I did a workaround and installed windows 7, then upgraded to 10 and 11, and restored my pc this way.

I'm running bios 1.10 from 12/13/2021

and my pc often doesn't reboot properly after using it for hours. It hangs.
But if a reboot, and reboot again shortly after, it restarts fine.

weird. anyone else have this issue with this bios?

I really don't feel like upgrading the bios, because the newer bioses disable avx512

I have same CPU and cooler, and running CB on stock power resulted in thermal throttling because I would reach 100C in 10 seconds (Power load was around 240W). After I changed Long/Short power limit to 200W I can run it for hours and temps go to max 92C - not ideal but a lot better than before.

I guess that this cooler can not chew more than 200W but I didn't know that before I bought it.

No, the problem is that this board spins up the fan too slow.

Other boards spin up the fan faster, so they dissipate heat faster before cpu thermal throttles.

Does your cpu still throttle at max power with max fan rpm?

That's near impossible. No way that even at 240W the cpu can reach 100C in 10 seconds.
Without power limitation I get ~83-84C on a 12700K with NH-U12A, which is almost the same cooler.

I think that your cpu and cooler plate don't make proper contact.
actually cpu fan spins up too slow because of how msi designed the bios. it takes 20 seconds to spin up to max rpm

msi needs to fix this.
i have an asrock z690 board that spins up the fan faster, testing the same fan i have in the msi z690

so far no acknowledgement that msi is looking into this

Hello, i bought 2 days ago this mobo ( msi pro z690 a ddr4 wifi) and i have a big problem with ethernet connection. There is no ethernet cable detected, like i had no cable connected, and when i go in device manager at adapter options there is nothing. I tried to update bios to latest version ( 7D25v128 ) and didn t work. I tried to update Intel Network drivers but i get an error "
No intel adapters are presented in this computer" . I also tried to download from another pc and set it up by device manager but also didn t work. Please help me, i try for 16H to solve this in so many ways and tried to search on all forums and nothing literally worked. Thank you.

Even after the fan starts running at 100% it throttles the same, I also added second fan to cpu cooler but didn't change anything.

Does the lights on back plate light up when you plug the cable, because at first I also had an issue since the cable didn't plug in correctly, it needed extra push :)

Just upgraded to the new 7D25v12 BIOS and can confirm it resolved XMP stability for me. Until now I had to have XMP turned off.

My setup:

PRO Z690-A DDR4 Wifi
i7-12700K
4 sticks of G.Skill F4-3200C16-16GVK

EDIT 3/11: I spoke too soon, with XMP enabled I'm still getting random application crashes. It's a much less frequent and severe than with prior BIOSes, but still there. E.g. instead of Windows crashes/BSOD or boot problems, now I'm seeing random applications just quitting without any obvious error being displayed. e.g. Photoshop, Internet Browser would just close.

I had noticed this right away after assembling a new 12700k build, I resolved the issue by not using the CPU pump connector on the board. The pump wouldn't start as the system booted up and the CPU pump/fans were idle for just a few seconds allowing overheating. I'm also using the BIOS custom fan speed function, as long as the Pump fired up immediately the fans are ok for this pause during boot. (Z690-A DDR4). I keep the CPU pump at full speed now at all times to prevent lag heat.

Hi, I had same issue. Solved it by downloading intel lan drivers from MSI page.

I can’t seem to get the onboard wifi enabled on my mobo, Ethernet working fine after the driver update but wifi isn’t even showing up as an option in settings. Tried all the fixes I can find related to it and none of them seem to be working. I’m pretty sure I have the 2 wifi antennas attached correctly but anytime I do a hardware test in PROset adapter config utility for the intel(r) Ethernet controller (3) I225-V I get fails on register status, interrupt status and loopback tests. In Devices Manager under Other devices it says the Network Controller has no compatible drivers, so wondering if this is a related issue or is the network controller meant to refer to a wifi card?

I'd guess that you aren't realizing that you need two drivers (both end up under Network adapters in Device Manager when complete). One for the wired ethernet (which is sounds like you got), and another for the Wi-Fi (AX211). Download them either from MSI Support or Intel Support. Alternatively if you've got one and connect to internet, Windows Update can typically get the other one.
