So I just got this motherboard and swapped my old one and out and what not. When I boot to windows I get a security issue saying I need to change my Pin to log into windows, when I click change it pulls up something that requires internet and my board isn’t recognizing the ethernet plugged into it. I don’t have a disk drive to run the dvd that the motherboard came in either. How can I get the internet working ?!?

yeah, that way is broken for me too. I go through MSI-> Products -> Motherboard -> Professional -> filter on Intel Z690-> Select the correct Mobo (with DDR4) -> Support

go to another Pc. Download it to a usb drive. Then when the pop up comes up on windows install say have driver and point to usb

Guess I'll try a cmos clear - no OC, no tweaks, exactly as it came out of the box. The only thing I have changed in BIOS is the setting for "GPU" check, and issue persists. Even loading into he bios takes far longer than it should so I'd guess the "memory training" issue you mention is a likely culprit.

Thanks--I have page bookmarked and yes tried Firefox and Edge. Also rechecked correct OS (Windows 11). Also BIOS and other tabs work fine--only "driver" is not showing anything (screenshot) I use Intel for drivers anyway but wondering if I'm the only one having this issue?

--Update MSI chat says they're aware of issue and "working on it."

Hi all... i got a new MSI z690 ddr4 wifi, and paired it with a 12700k. I did a clean windows 11 install and had the wifi drivers handy to load them on install. All went great, and system was up and running in no time. But i got a question. Although system is going great, i went up and downloaded MSI Center. I see some drivers, like audio, bluetooth and lan drivers, shown as "not installed" in MSI Center. However, i already have all devices working, including bluetooth, audio and lan. I have no question mark or anything weird in Device Manager. Do i really need to install all drivers shown in MSI Center, or just forget about them if things are working fine?

I also downloaded Intel Extreme Tuning Utility from Intel website, which is newer version than the one shown in MSI Center. However, MSI Center says it's not installed. Is it some special version that MSI offers, or again i should just ignore this?

I have not been using MSI Center after reading all over forums how bad it is. For drivers you can download Intel's Driver and Support Assistant. https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/intel-driver-support-assistant.html
It will get you latest updates. MSI's are often older or outdated. The XTU from Intel is current--I have had same issue with MSI Center not seeing it and showing older version.
I also learned that with XTU if you make OC changes and then want to go back to original settings, and uninstall XTU, you have to revert the settings within XTU before you uninstall it.
I'm pretty new to this so I had similar experience to you with MSI Center. It used to be called MSI Dragon and if you google that you will read a lot of bad criticism. I have found that
MSI bios updates are reliable. Don't do those updates through MSI Center either--do them with M-Flash in your bios. Cheers good luck.

Is there any standalone version of Mystic Lights? Since that's the only thing i need from MSI Center, and that's the only thing from keeping me uninstalling MSI Center!

Short answer--there was but not any more. I've tried a number of alternatives including an older version of Mystic Lights by itself. Didn't work. I wound up just "installing" Mystic Lights" without any of the other modules of MSI Center.

Can anybody confirm that the AVX Guardband Voltage setting does not do anything regardless of the configured value, as of BIOS v13? Load voltages with AVX instructions remain the same.

Hello, i have m.2_1 and m.2_2 occupied with nvme drives and 3 sata drives. Now I want to install a m.2 SSD drive in m.2_3 or 4, but it can't boot, and the GPU (3070ti) light on debugger remains white. Have i maxed out pci-e lanes? Are these m.2 slots decorative?

I read that people are having issues populating all m2 slots. There are posts on reddit and msi forum about this. Theoretically, there should be no limitation from populating all M.2 slots. The first is from the CPU, the other three from the chipset, and they don't seem to share PCIe lanes with anything. You should be able to use all 4xm.2 slots and all 6xSATA ports at the same time. The only limitation is that the m.2_1 and m.2_2 do not support m.2 SATA drives, but only faster PCIe drives. m.2 SATA drives are only supported on m.2_3 and m.2_4, but again they should not share any lanes. The chipset is powerful enough to provide independent lanes for those, and there is absolutely no reference in the manual. So, everybody is assuming that there is no SATA limitation.

If there is some lanes overlap/sharing going on, it should be specified in the spec sheet/manual of the motherboard, otherwise it's considered misleading and it actually tricks customers. I read that some ppl are switching to Gigabyte for this.

However, we need some official clarification for this from MSI. Anyone else is populating all 4 m2 slots and at least one sata port?

Your m.2 drives are SATA or PCIe drives?
I'm guessing you are on latest BIOS and got all required drivers installed, even the chipset drivers, right?

It was a busted drive, tried it on another pc with the same results. However, after updating to the latest BIOS, i can't enable XMP...and it sucks
