-the drive is installed correctly in the m2_1 slot (one with the heat sink) and is formatted GPT
-tried secure boot on/off
-tried cmos

SSD: Mushkin Enhanced Tempest M.2 2280 2TB PCIe Gen3 x4 NVMe 1.4 3D NAND Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) MKNSSDTS2TB-D8
CPU: INTEL I7 12700k
GPU: Radeon RX480 (Asus ROG Strix 8GB, 1120mhz base/1310mhz boost, VRAM: 2000mhz)
RAM: Kingston Beast DDR5 2x8GB 4800MT/s
PSU: Rosewill 850W Glacier

I rolled back to the prior BIOS version 7D25vA4 and it shows up under storage and in the boot order like it is supposed to. Something I am doing wrong or is it just a wonky BIOS version? Anyone else have this issue?
Thanks,
Aaron

Can you try it without your graphics card, using just the iGPU of the CPU? Your old GPU might interfere with the BIOS mode (UEFI vs. CSM), because it's likely not UEFI compatible.

Hi citay,
I checked my card using GPU-Z and it is UEFI compatible. I did try pulling it anyway, but got the same results. I am running windows 11 UEFI/Secure mode in BIOS version 7D25vA4 so I don't think it is a hardware issue. I edited original post to add more detail about GPU.
Thanks,

Ok, it was worth a try. But i have found a more likely reason.

There has been a similar problem reported with M.2 SSDs from XPG, the Gammix S70 Blade, which use an InnoGrit controller (InnoGrit IG5236).
So i looked up your Mushkin SSD, and sure enough, it uses an InnoGrit IG5216.

There might be some compatibility problem with SSDs using said InnoGrit controllers, perhaps in connection with improperly supported ASPM (Active State Power Management) by the controller.
I would report this to MSI and perhaps also to Mushkin, maybe there even needs to be a firmware update applied to the drive in the end. I don't think all the blame is on MSI for this one, not sure.

Thanks for the information. I will pass this onto MSI and Mushkin. Not a big deal at the moment since I have it working in prior version, but could be a problem when I decide to upgrade the RAM (need latest BIOS). Thanks for your help!
