i have the gf3ti200 pro-vt128 ms-8850 and with the captuer works but theres 2 probs 1 the driver keeps going corupt so when i try to use it it compleatly crashes my computer and restarts it. so i reinstall it works fine (well till the driver goes corupt again) and it hangs takes like a minuite befor wincoder loads (if the drivers working other wise it takes 5 sec and the comp crashes) and hanges which it didnt do befor i started getting this prob. i seen a erlyer post with troble with the capture not working and some one reccamended updateing the bios well i tryed live update but i had this prob since i bought the video card it says

Sorry!!!
Your Display Card does not support MSITM Live Update SeriesTM function.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NOTE: MSITM Live VGA BIOSTM / MSITM Live VGA DriverTM support the Display Card of MSITM only.

and this i had since i bought the card (well befor it wanted to update it self first but i have the drivers i downloaded from msi but still did it) so if it is maby the bios how would i go bout updateing with out live update? or if its something else that wrong..

thanks for the help

DMZio,

I have not ever used an MSI Video Card so I am not speaking from experience. I have read several threads in this forum witch talk about WinCoder and WinProducer as being a two part install to get the Tv Capture working properly.

Make sure you install WinCoder and WinProducer.

Hope this helps,

Richard

hmm not the softwere its the drivers cause all i need to do when i run wincoder it crashes and reboots
is reinstall the drivers it works but i get a fealing that theres maby something wrong with the card (cause the softweres fine its bairly calls any processor power when i run it and the drivers are fine i think its the capture on the card cause if it takes long opening/accessing the tv in chances are its the card :-/) but i want to see what i can find out and what i can try to fix it. i tryed when it was rebooting to reinstall wincoder (yea and winproducer ) and it still did it

DMZio,

Then lets see what others in the forum have to say. If they cannot get your problem solved, I will go to MSI and get you the answer.

Sorry I was not more help,

Richard

Okay, I was wondering when and if I'd see a post about this. Okay here's my situation:

a) I run Windows XP Professional Build: 2600 and have purposely not done any updates, as an update usually causes something to stop working (good one M$). I have disabled "auto-rebooting" and enabled "error reporting" so I can see what is killing my PC.

b) I have an MSI GeForce3Ti200-Pro [MS-8850] (64 MB version), with the latest MSI/nVidia driver (30.00) and Capture (1.16) and am having trouble.

c) Previously I was having real issues with WinCoder crashing, and an re-install of the driver, update of the driver and severl re-installs of WinCoder/WinProducer failed to achieve anything. I infact contacted MSI Australia and requested a new version of the software and loaded it after a fresh re-install of Windows and it works - for now!

d) WinCoder seems to die and have an error with the Windows "C" library called "MFC42.DLL.

e) Once WinCoder is working Windows may still die with a BSOD saying there is a problem with "nv4_disp.dll" (I think thats what it's called). This is an irregular even and is usually caused by closing WinCoder after it is running.

f) I rekkon there are some huge TV-IN problem with this card... most likely a driver issue, it need quick fixing.

g) I too cannot get any joy out of Live Update. In fact, Live Update 1.3 (Can't remember exactly) the one that came on CD with my VGA used to work.... I never used it to install any updates tho.... but since that said "wrong version... upgrade" I have had no luck with it. What the heck is going on at MSI??!!!??

h) I tend to use other software, if you want to just watch full-screen input from the TV-IN I went back to my old VGA maker (Asus) and downloaded Asus VCR (Previously Asus Live)... it's free.... it's far better than WinCoder... get it now... it doesn't crash like the Intervideo/MSI stuff does.

Hope that this helps, and provides some info for MSI to fix the problems.

;( and my suplyer that i bought from is up for sale so no help from there till they are sold so could some one help me get a hold of msi to get it shiped out and replaced XD
