I've got a GeForce4 Ti 4200 and while playing games, it allways hangs up after a few seconds. i've tried several driver but the problem is the same.

(Could this be a RAM PB?)

I have got a Duron 800 on a Gigabyte GA-7ZX KT 133 with integrated sound card
256 Mb SDRAM
Internal Modem PCI
Network card
And two hard drives (60 and 10 GB) CD-rom
My power supply is a 300 W Max...

I've tested it with Win XP pro and Win98 and the problem is the same.

I hope this could help you.

felon its a fact of life most 300 watt psu are not able to run a gf4 system

give us the combined or amps at 3.3 and 5 v of the label

buy one 200 watts or over for now and future needs

and make sure the amps at 3.3 and 5 are in balance ive seen some rated at 200 but with only 14 amps on the 3.3 which is no good

I've rechecked my psu and i've found those specifications.I think that's what you wanted.

+3.3V : 22A
5V : 30A
-5V : 0.3A
+12V :14A
-12V :0.8A
+5VSR : 0.8A

I wanted to be sure!

A new psu costs a lot...

I'll try with my old VGA card, just to be certain...
and i'll see...

thanks for your help

felon it may well be the case that evey thing works fine with an older vga card

but that will be because it does not require anything like the power a gf4 does

lots of people are surprised that their system stops or is unstable, but its all down to the power they require

Finally it works well without a new psu!

I've re-re installed the last driver of MSI and... No pbs anymore ? ?( . I don't understand but it's fine now (with both OS) !

In any case I thank you for your help!

In fact... it blocks later (~30min)(it is particulary fun with WCIII!) ;(

so i'll try a new psu but my banker will look like this X(

Hi all,

I have the same problem. I bought a MSI G4MX420-t card and put it in my pentuim 2 300 mhz computer with ASUS board. My old card worked fine (Matrox Mil), but with this new card, after some time, my screen freezes.
Tried the lates drivers and changing biosfeatures, but nothing worked! Please help me.
I saw your discussion about the PSU...my psu max ower is 235 W......but i hope that is not the problem.........
if so i rather bring back my videocard.......i only bought it for the tv out option.

Please help me

I saw you're saying that the combined power should be 200W. So how the hell am I still running this circus with my 200W PSU that has cca100W combined ? :D

(I'm buying the PSU nonetheless)
