i play alot of half-life and counter-strike... when i first bought the card i got 100 fps np w/o dropping below 98.. 1 month later....now when i play it drops from 100 fps to 20 then goes back up to 100 causing the screen to lag... since it happens in servers every 10 seconds... its as bad as playing on a 56k modem... im using the newest detonator drivers (30. sumthin, also tried the 29.42 and 28.31)... havent changed os since i bought the card, no OC either...

Your HDD might be overly fragmented causing a slow down during access of even a tiny amount of data.

And if you have less than 512MB of RAM there is room for improvement (over 512MB is still excessive for the current games).
