Hello!

I recently bought a GIGABYTE RTX 4080 Gaming (GV-N4080GAMING-16GD) and encountered the problem: System and BIOS do not see GIGABYTE RTX 4080 Gaming video card

My configuration:
  • EVGA 750 GT SuperNova PSU,

  • MB MSI MAG B650 Tomahawk WiFi,

  • CPU Ryzen 7600X,

  • MEMORY: 2 sticks in XMP @6000MHz (Kingston Fury Renegade RGB 16Gb DDR5 6000MHz (KF560C32RSA-16)),

  • all NVME slots are occupied by PCie 3\4 drives if this is important.

Bios latest (7D75v1B 2023-11-28). The BIOS is loaded with UEFI, the OS starts with the integrated video card in percent, the new 4080 is not displayed in the manager. Tried different HDMI monitors, DP ports everywhere. But if, after loading from the integrated card, you reboot, or press the reset button, then the 4080 is successfully detected, the monitor screen lights up and the system already boots with an external video card.
With my previous RTX GameRock 3080ti there were no such problems with this mother board.
I checked the video card on another PC, it was AM4 - all is fine, no such problem (10+ starts \cold starts is ok).
I tried to change the power supply to CHIEFTEC GPM-1250C 1250W ATX Gold - it didn’t help.
I checked the 4080 video card, it passes any loads and tests.

I'm having the same situation with my setup, and no its not Gigabyte issues because i have a MSI gpu (RTX 4070ti suprim) and the only BIOS that work its 7D75v17, i hope MSI fix this situation but im not sure if they care at this point , maybe i will end change the MOBO for other brand will be a better option

I hope so, as I see, this was done by ASROCK with MB "B450 Pro4 R2.0" for example:
5.602022/10/2110.69MB
Improve GPU compatibility for GeForce RTX 40 series.
It looks like there was a problem, but we can only hope that the problem will be noticed and solved by the vendor MSI.

Hello, today I installed the old BIOS version for test: 7D75v17
So, with it there are no problems with identifying the video card on 7D75v17, 4080 is successfully detected when the computer starts!

But as you understand, this is not a solution to the problem, but the fact that the problem lies at the BIOS level, which I reported in my application to the support representative. I'm waiting for a response from them.

Same issue, mine is a Zotac 4080 with the latest non beta bios. Apparently this is a bios level issue that MSI is aware of, according to this Post in thread 'MSI B650-Chipset : Graphic card not detected (DisplayPort)' https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?...-not-detected-displayport.391088/post-2225683

Honestly, I've been through 2 kits of 6000 MHz memory, both on the qvl list, and have had stability issues with no overclocking outside of enabling Expo since July last year. The most recent bios seems to have fixed (at least as far as I can tell) my memory instability but now it has this GPU problem. Kind of unacceptable in my opinion to be dealing with all these bios issues for a fairly expensive mobo this far down the road.

MSI B650 Tomahawk WIFI board sure is going thru a lot of BETA BIOS versions.....early Dec, early Jan then end of Jan......hope this GPU fix has been identified for the next BETA and final version.
Makes me weary to build my board with Gigabyte 4070 TI SUPER Eagle OC....

In total, the new test BIOS helped solve the problem with my RTX 4080. The problem was solved immediately for 4070\4080:
"it should fix 4070/4080 compatibility issues with newer and future AGESA versions."

Well i tick with the 7D75V17 until they make a real good and working BIOS , i dont have luck with any last one they release, if someone are test the last one let me know if work find or better than BIOS 7D75v17 and thanks.

UPDATE:

OK i test the last BIOS update 7D75v1E and so far it working just perfect on my pc , i make some settings like disable integrate graphics, AMD EXPO enable to 6000mhz and CPU undervolt in BIOS to -30 all core in curve mode and everithing work great at the moment so yes this one is good to use.

MOBO: MSI B650 TOMAHAWK WIFI
CPU: R7 7800X3D
GPU: MSI 4070ti SUPRIM X
RAM: CORSAIR DDR5 VENGEANCE RGB 32GB 6000MHZ AMD EXPO

I'm having this issue with multi recent Nvidia gfx cards and msi motherboards.

The recent 7D75v1E bios on a MSI B650 TOMAHAWK WIFI with a founders 4080 cold boots correctly but reboots do not detect the gfx card. Downgrading to older 7D75v1B fixed it for now.

Have the same problem with a MSI PRO B650M-B with a 3050 6Gb on 7E28vA6.

I guess something in the recent AGESA ComboPI 1.1.0.2b is to blame.

hi everyone ! same board B650 WIFI with 4080 SUPER...GPU is not being recognized automatically after powering up the PC. Today i have flashed BIOS to latest version but now i cannot downgrade to 7D75v17 - bios files are not being recognized but for the latest BIOS it was not an issue. Pleas help ! its driving me crazy to wait 1min for my monitor boot
