Problem with Z490 and 11th generation

Hi, I recently bought an MPG Z490 GAMING EDGE WIFI motherboard and an i5 11600K. When turning on the computer, the EZ Debug CPU LED lights up and nothing appears on the screen (I'm using HDMI). Apparently the standard BIOS version of my motherboard is 1.1 (MS-7C79 Ver: 1.1), and only in the latest version (7C79v16) does the BIOS support the 11th generation processors, can this be the problem?

I already checked if the CPU Coller was too tight, if the power supply cable was well connected and if there were any bent pins, I believe that it is not one of the previous factors. Although pin verification is a painstaking job and may have missed something.

Is there a way to update the BIOS without entering the BIOS? Can this incompatibility really be the problem?

Thanks for the help and sorry for any grammar mistakes.

Setup:

CPU: Intel i5 11600K
MOBO: MPG Z490 GAMING EDGE WIFI
Power supply: Corsair 650X
CPU Coller: Cooler Master MasterLiquid ML240L V2

Edit: The problem was solved updating BIOS version.

You need the BIOS 7C79v16 or newer to boot with a Core i-11000 on this board. For Z490, only the MSI MEG Z490 Unify and the MSI MEG Z490 ACE have a Flash BIOS button. Only this method allows updating the BIOS without a compatible CPU (for Z590, pretty much all MSI boards have a Flash BIOS button). Without the button and corresponding USB port, you can only update it with an older CPU in the socket.

If you can still return the board without too much inconvenience, you could think about doing so and getting a Z590 board. The MSI MAG Z590 Tomahawk WIFI is a comparable model. The CPU will work on that out of the box, but you should still flash the newest BIOS in order to get the current Intel microcode update.

If you want to make your Z490 board work with that Rocket Lake CPU, you first have to put in a Comet Lake CPU from this list, and update the BIOS to the newest one: https://www.msi.com//Motherboard/support/MPG-Z490-GAMING-EDGE-WIFI#support-cpu

Overall, i would always recommend a Z590 board instead of a Z490, when paired with a Rocket Lake CPU. Reasons:
- PCIe 4.0, faster USB speed, Wifi 6E, mostly improved VRM design
- Possible RAM support problems with Core i-11000 in Z490: https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?threads/11600k-xmp-wont-boot.361804/
- Still missing new Rocket Lake microcode updates in Z490 : https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?threads/z490-and-rocket-lake-low-gaming-performance.361968/

Hey,
I'll get a CometLake CPU (Pentium Gold G6400) and try to update my BIOS version. I can't return my MOBO to where I buy it so this is easiest solution for me. I think the new CPU arrive tomorrow I'll post here if it works.
