PSA: Check your reward point balance!

Dear forumites,


I'd recommend all of you to check your MSI reward point balance. On another thread another user said that he lost hundreds of points out of a sudden. Well, as you might guess the same happened to me and I decided to post this. As for me, I think I lost around 520 points, but naturally can't remember exactly. These points were accumulated in time by registering bought MSI products and daily log-ins on this forum. Currently I seem to have only 4.

I don't believe that this "daylight robbery" is limited only to me and just one another user who happened to notice it. So, I really recommend you all to take a look at your points balance. If this is a widespread problem caused by some glitch in the system, let's hope MSI can fix all these problems easily. This would naturally be preferred over all of us contacting MSI individually by creating tickets and flooding the system.

I will attach a pic of my own account so you know what to look for. You can access your own info by clicking "Community" (top of the screen) and then "MSI Reward Program".

PS Off Topic: I've been having difficulties registering daily log-ins for ages now. Trying another browser, clearing cache, howling at the moon etc. doesn't help. At times end up missing even a weeks points until log-in finally gets registered. :( And now this? :(


EDIT 4/11: The matter has been resolved. Here's the reply I received.

"Thank you for your thorough information.
We've checked with our team and checked that this is due to our recent system upgrade.
Our team will distribute the points back to you as soon as possible and will let it know when it's done.
We're really sorry for the inconvenience caused.
"

From what I remember, and I could be wrong, but I seem to believe that MSI had started to make the points expire.
I seem to recall an email about it, but honestly, I just deleted it. I don't even care about the points. It's mostly a joke anyway if you ask me....

I know that points expire in time, but all of them expiring at the same time makes no sense. If points had an expiration date, let's say one year just as an example, why lose all of them at once? Something else is going on. My money is on messed up coding. The following is from MSI's own FAQ:

"Do my MSI Reward Program Points expire?
The Points you collect towards Rewards will expire after 12 months If you has not earned or spent points during that timeline. MSI will always apply the oldest Points towards your any Reward you redeem regardless of the tier. If your account is closed for any reason, your Points will expire 12 months from the calendar month in which your account was closed."

To me it looks like MSI's membership program is broken and not working as intended. Before contacting, MSI I'd like to hear from other members that have the same problem. And yes, I know that the points aren't that useful, but I spend them on raffles and exchange them to funds in my Steam Wallet. Every bit helps, right?

Oh, and thanks for all the good work you do here! It is very much appreciated.

Indeed I also lost 512 points, and I registered only about 4-5 months ago, so there is no chance of any kind of "expiration" reason at hand. I hope this gets resolved soon and points returned with at least some compensation.

I created a ticket and explained the issue. I also mentioned you in it, so hopefully MSI will look into this and fix things. I also asked them to create a new ticket category for Reward Point issues. I still don't believe that we are the only ones being "robbed". I might create a post in Reddit to see if this is a wider issue.

Thanks, I already mailed them about it 2-3 days ago though. Just few minutes ago I got a reply and my points returned. They claim this "your account got automatically blocked as the system has detected fraudulent activities. ". Very strange
