So i've been dealing with tons of issues all related to x870 tomahawk, ended up getting 2 sent back to supplier and both deemed faulty.

Trash board, avoid.

Anyway, i used a b650 tomahawk i had ready for a friends build so inbetween RMA the x870 boards, i was using that w/ none of the issues the x870 had.

One issue i did have though.

I plugged the motherboard into the case, connected the cpu + motherboard power cables, and bios flashed the latest bios for b650 tomahawk to work w/ 9800x3d. White light flicks + red/yellow led lights are on during it, white light stops after 5 minutes, the red/yellow led lights never go off (goodjob!, also happens on x870 tomahawk). So i turn off the pc, plug in all pc components, first boot starts up w/ red/yellow LED, never displaying an image.

Unplug psu cable, hold power button on case for 15 seconds, replug, turn on and the pc works.

This happened with both my B650 Tomahawks. As i was using my friends B650 during returns of the x870, i ended up buying a new B650 tomahawk after the 2nd x870 was deemed faulty and received a cash refund.

Lots of issues lately with msi boards and bios.

edit:

to be clear - this is only the first boot after initally flashing the bios / first setup of motherboard.

Pc works as expected after. Probably not needed if you didn't flash the bios.
