2 new good PSU choices on the market from Corsair:

Corsair VX Series (VX450W, VX550W): /* both single Rail */
Can't wait for VX550W.... and still a few days left. According to corsair it will be available in September (Europe).
Got to have it, nice 41A for less than 80?...

For most states(USA), when you order online, you don't pay any taxes. In addition, if you do have to pay taxes, the amount hovers around 5 to 8.25(I believe)% depending on the state you reside in.

I could not find another PSU of that quality and +12V amps near that price. El-cheapo's with much higher watt ratings with the same amps (lower efficiency/quality) yes but not this good. It's nice to see a value product like this from a respected name in the business.
Compare it to the prices of their HX series and you will see what I mean.

With their 3 day shipping I should get it by Thursday maybe even tomorrow.

By the way shipping was not free on this, it was an additional $8.22 but the rebate offset that.

I'll let you how how it checks out compared to the good reviews I read about it in a few days.

I don't think there is any for that price. The VX450 is without competition on that price level. 33A on a single rail is fantastic and makes it even better than much more expensive PSUs.
I think the VX series will be much better than the HX series although VX is just value and HX high end (according to corsair).

I'm excited about hearing from your experiences with it as I'm plannig to go for VX550.

My PSU in signature is at same price.

P.S: Correction, double checked, it cost 10$ more than VX450 :-))

Oh yeah just checked it's about same price level. I thought it wouldn't be available anymore. Had this too before it died. Searched for one but couldn't find it... Well anyhow it's time for more power and vx550.
At least your right the EG465AX-VE is the competitor! Both 33A

I received my VX450W today and got it installed.
Very quiet fan, speed is temperature controlled. Actually from 1m can only hear MSI NB fan from 6 total in my PC.
6 SATA on 2 daisy chained cables (3 on each).
6 - 4 pin Molex (w/floppy at end on each) daisy chained on 2 cables like SATA.
24 pin w/detachable 4 pin.
4 & 8 pin ATX.
1 - 6 pin PCI-E.
Sexy black fishnet covering on each bundle of cables.

+3.3 = +3.30, +5 = +4.95, +12 = +12.10 (checked w/volt meter under load).

So to sum it up  If you  don't need more than 33A on +12V then this it for the price. If you need more juice try the VX550W. You don't need to spend $100 or more for a good PSU.

Edit: Also came with 10 small nylon wire ties and b&w stick on Corsair badge like MSI's

What I hear makes me want the VX550 right now!
The VX450 is really nice value for money and a great base for your upcoming X2-machine (especially when considering oc).
Unfortunately the VX550 is still not available, so I'm still waiting (sigh) ...
