Can I run a refresh rate at 75hz on the HDMI port? Right now it's doing it via the Display port.
Any reason why I should stay w/the display port rather than HDMI?
I'm not a gamer, I don't play games, just graphics work, that's it.
But I'd like to set it up the best I can for my eyes (eye, only have one)! Any suggestions for best setup will be greatly appreciated!
Thank you for any pointers!
I am using an ASUS VA24DQLB, working on buying an
Acer 32" Class WQHD IPS FreeSync Monitor, should be same quality just bigger, hopefully easier on my eye.

120Hz with HDMI @ 1440 with not problems Should be able to get 120hz @4K on compatible monitor. Just make sure you buy Certified 2.0 or 2.1 HDMI cables they cost about the same but have to meet a certain specification Should be no more than $10 per meter

Thank you for that info, but unfortunately the monitor cannot do that, I don’t think.

so you want to set the refresh rate at 75Hz and enable adaptive sync through HDMI? why don't you want to use DP?

The only reason is that the DP plug is not as stable as the HDMI plug, tends to loosen with the slightest move of the PC or the cables around it, although that don't happen often, otherwise, I'd rather use the best, especially for my eye!

I'd LOVE to set a higher refresh rate, I'm sure will be even better for my eye, but can the monitor handle it, ASUS VA24DQLB? As you can see the quote, " Up to 75Hz refresh rate with Adaptive-Sync technology ..."

BTW in the windows display settings, 75hz is the max, how do I set it higher? What am I missing/overlooking?

ASUS VA24DQLB can support 1920*1080@75Hz, it looks like Windows display settings are capped by the monitor.

Can you recommend a better monitor? Although I think 75 may be good enough for just graphics work
If your really want one for Graphics work or photo work them bigger is better and a big 4k is even better You do not need a High refresh rate for Graphics work but Bigger the monitor and higher the Resolution the better off you are.

Also you may want to look for one that is colour accurate calibrated to 95% or better..

I agree, that's why, hopefully within my budget I'm buying an Acer 32" Class WQHD IPS FreeSync Monitor, similar specs. Can't afford much, I don't do it for business, just helping my church. I'll check on the color accuracy of that monitor.
Thank you all for your input, I really appreciate it!
