If I turn off my monitors off at night before bed then turn them on the following morning the Dell U2720QM 4K monitor will not resume display.

It's on (can see the backlight) but the screen stays black. It does not appear to respond to any commands.

I've isolated this to the MSI Radeon RX 6800 Gaming Z Trio 16g.

Should I RMA this card?
If the monitor is plugged into a different video card (an nvidia 1050ti) this problem does not occur.
If the monitor is plugged into my laptop (which has an nvidia 3070 ti) this problem does not occur.

System setup:
1. Three 4K monitors (sceptre, dell, aoc)
2. Intel i7-12700KF cpu
3. Asus PRIME H670-PLUS D4 motherboard
4. MSI Radeon RX 6800 Gaming Z Trio 16G
5. Asus Nvidia 1050ti

The monitors on the left and right are plugged into the nvidia card.
The middle/main monitor is plugged into the MSI radeon.

Thanks for replying!
Yes, same result.

When it started I only had the rx6800 card in. To rule out "too many monitors plugged into 1 card" I put my old 1050ti back in and connected the 2 side monitors to it.

Other things I've tried:
- Switching from display port to HDMI
- Not turning off the monitors at night but instead putting machine in sleep mode
- Instead of sleep mode just setting screen to turn off (in software not physically)
- Motherboard bios updated to latest version
- Motherboard bios downgrades to initial version
- Disabling power management in bios
- Reinstalling windows 10
- Upgrading to Windows 11

Got a laptop, connected it to a docking station, connected the monitors to the docking station.

When the monitors are connected to both the docking station and the desktop (using different monitor ports), if I disconnect the display through Windows display settings the monitor wakes up and switches to the laptop/docking station input.
This is the only reason I didn't rma the monitor to dell. This issue does not happen with the laptop.

The laptop working makes me think it's the MSI Radeon card. I really hate to rma the card but can't think of anything else to try...

Sounds like it may have a Fault Can you Try MSI Center>> Live update >>Advanced and see if there is a V-Bios update

Have tried. The first few times it couldn't find the server. This last few times it found no updates. Can't turn off the lights on the card either - dragon center and msi center 2.0.9 and 2.0.16 don't work. Dragon center worked once but hasn't since. MSI center failed to install all last week. Succeeded this weekend but running it just changes to the update page.

It worked! Can turn off RGB again. This time when it asked to choose a feature set I just clicked on Gaming on the lark that maybe it is tested more often and installs something mystic light depends on. It worked.

And about the dell monitor not turning on - randomly decided to try turning on a different monitor first. It worked - after the first monitor detects signal, turning on the middle monitor (which was getting stuck in sleep-like mode before) detects a signal and turns on too. I have absolutely no idea why this appears to work but it's been working for a few days.

Anywho, thanks for your help.

heh, the 2.0.19 msi-center.zip file contains "msi center_2.0.16.0.exe" and is the same size (502852KB). Installing by feature set worked for me so I got no complaints but in case someone accidentally uploaded the old binary...
