Still trying to decide on whether I'll be purchasing the new and upcoming Raider GE76 12UH with either a 2160p, 1440p, or 1080p display panel. I just have no idea of how powerful the RTX 3080 Ti Mobile graphics actually is. I'm fairly certain that you can enjoy most latest PC games in 4K with maximum graphics settings, and at way over 60 FPS, so perhaps having the 2160p (4K) panel would be a good idea in the long run. It's just that a few years down the line, some crazy-demanding games will be coming out, and I will need to probably need to lower graphics settings and resolution in order to keep the framerate above 60 FPS. 4K gaming is very performance-demanding, believe me. I'm very familiar with it.
With my current GE76 Raider with Core i7-10870H RTX 3080 Mobile, I usually plays games with the laptop connected to an external 4K TV. Most games play with around 60 FPS already, so judging by that, the RTX 3080 Ti Mobile should be more than capable with 4K gaming. Processor doesn't really matter all that much when it comes to gaming.
That gorgeous-looking 2160p laptop display is useful for more than just gaming, I bet watching movies and browsing the web on it is very pleasing to the eye with the 120Hz refresh-rate.
I know that I definitely want the laptop equipped with the crazy-powerful Core i9-12900HK processor, it's literally the most powerful mobile CPU to date, and pairing it with the RTX 3080 Ti Mobile is a no-brainer, if I want to be future-proof with all of the latest PC games coming in the next couple of years.
We really do need some gaming benchmark videos with each of the five different SKUs, showing gaming performance with each one, at different internal resolutions, so we can see how much the RTX 3080 Ti can cope with, and whether the Core i9-12900HK is a good processor to pair it with. Perhaps this new Raider GE76 somewhat struggles with maintaining 60 FPS in 4K with most latest games such as Battlefield 2042, Call of Duty Vanguard, Cyberpunk 2077, Far Cry 6, but I doubt that, new GPU seems to be offering plenty of performance so I don't believe it will be slacking, even with power-hungry ray-tracing effects enabled. Framerates of up to around 90 FPS with most latest titles, I'm sure of it.
It really all depends on how much each SKU model costs at launch on most reseller websites. I'm hoping the 2160p (4K) option will cost close to £3800. If it turns out that the 2160p option costs close to £4500, then I'll just settle with the one that has the 1440p display with slightly less powerful Core i7-12700H, and RTX 3080 Ti Mobile, which should obviously be a lot cheaper in price. Gaming in 4K on the laptop's 17.3" screen isn't really all that important to me, you see. I can always hook up the laptop to an external 4K TV for that sort of thing.
