Ram only at 2667 on my H410M-A PRO (MS-7C89)

Hi All,
I have learnt the H410 wont support my 3200 DDR4 above 2933mhz (as that is what the board is limited to as it is bound to the CPU... or something like that as MSI support explained)

The issue i have is that in the BIOS settings i only have the option of 2667 and lower... i cannot for the life of me find 2993... and auto mode runs them at 2133 (or somewhere around that)

Ram is (2x16) G.Skill F4-3200C16-16GVK

I'm guessing it has something to do with the stick, the information in SPD is default = 2666Mhz rather than 2933Mhz plus this chipset has no memory overclock feature.
But really there is no much difference between 2933 and 2666Mhz, and if you really care about overclocking, better just get Z chipset for better compatibility.

Agreed, i'd just use DDR4-2666. You have a very entry-level board model, you can't expect much of it. If you want a board with all the options, you're gonna have to spend double that amount at least.
You can try a BIOS update, maybe this will improve something.

Update how-to:
1) Get the latest BIOS. It's always the topmost one when you click on "BIOS" on the MSI support page for the mainboard. https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/H410M-A-PRO/support#down-bios
2) Extract the file and you will get a text file and the BIOS file. Put the BIOS file into the root folder of a USB stick/drive.
3) Enter the BIOS by pressing DEL during boot, go to "M-FLASH" in the BIOS.
4) Once M-Flash (the updater) is loaded, it will show a list of your drives. Select the USB stick and select the previously extracted BIOS file on there.
5) It will ask for confirmation and then update the BIOS. It's fully automatic from there, takes about two minutes.
