Hello every one,

I need the opinion of MSI Experts regarding to RAM Upgrade to my Laptop MSI GT75 - 7RF
Currnet RAM 32 GB 2400MHz

I am looking for
HyperX Impact 64GB 2666MHz DDR4 CL16 SODIMM (Kit of 2) Laptop Memory HX426S16IBK2/64

ideal use same 2400 kit - full compatibility ,,2666 works -using lower SPD 2400 or still need OC
on my NB normal works OC 2800mhz ,,but not must works for all :smile:
use 2400 + OC tab

So you mean that 2666 is not compatible with my laptop and the max is 2400 ?

as I see the same kit of 2400 with the same price

even so, only 2400 will be used - lower spd profile

for 2666 need custom setup in OC tab - default is 2400 max
..for me 2800 2x 16gb ,,more ram possible lower freq
..edit 2400 mem is 100./. compatible ,,exist more SPD 2666 contains lower  ,,but native is not compatible
 
now using 32 gb ram ? buy same ?  or need 64gb ??  for me impossible use 32gb-no swap ;D

MAX Ram : 64 GB

I need the upgrade the ram to handle heavy software like after effects and premiere pro, I already upgraded SSD to Samsung 960 pro (2x512) with Raid 0 Setup after purchasing this laptop

What is your opinion?
 
oem ram is installed under motherboard - full disassembly :bonk:
 2x32 HyperX - is good ram ,,but GT have OC tab - my is normal stock ram and works better than HyperX
,, when installed 2x same ram under cover M471A2K43CB1-CRC
possibly get lower speed or only 2400mhz ..but is easy upgrade "only remove cover"

It depends if you want a full disassembly ,,its not easy
....better use same ram add under cover only /lower cost
,,and Samsung chip is best --possibility get good/stable OC



same is Samsung 960 pro --same good SSD :)  or oem toshiba works fine for me
..but samsung is better :biggthumbsup:
 
look through the cover ,,ram slots is visible "close cpu heatsing"
,..oem is under motherboard ,,and any disassembly is risk "hw problems" :bonk:

,,same is compatibility samsung ram works good ,,,some gskill or similar better ram need working XMP or add SA offset - normal not works ""unstable under load""

So Purchasing 2 Extra same Samsung rams  and installing them in the visible slots is enough and I do not need full disassembly

Am I right ?

This my laptop after removing cover the 2 ram slots in the visible side are empty

Just cause I like to talk I write this!
If you cannot upgrade your RAM speed by 500 Mhz (as Max specd by Manufacturer) it is best to just fill the hatch side slots with the extra same RAM. You will simply not be able to detect (Feel) any speed difference unless you can make the 500 Mhz jump. Known rule of the "Elders"!!
Use the Crucial RAM guide and find the max your rig will take and calculate from there, and then think it over 3 more times!!!
eg: I have a 4 Slot RAM MSI GT73VR Titan DDR4-2400, 4 Slots, Max 64GB, . It will run 32 Gigs (16gbx2) 2933 Mhz Kingston Hyper X in the 2 RAM slots right behind the Bottom Cover.
It "WILL NOT" run those 2 sticks of RAM if put in the 2 slots under the Keyboard (read Motherboard Flip required) and the Bottom Cover slots empty.
It all depends on the TOTAL Ghz RAM the CPU will Run. So my GT73 sees that 32Ghz (16gbx2) 2933 RAM as "Too Much" RAM to have anything added to in the outer slots and refuses to accept it on the Keyboard side but runs it just fine in 2 slots under the bottom cover with the Keyboard side slots Empty because 0 + 2=2 or not!!
I have upgrade MANY lappys and found that for Max RAM speed it is flip the MoBo empty the RAM slots and use the Bottom Cover slots with the faster chips. Go Down in Amount of RAM and Up in Speed. I am finding now that in AAA games coming out that Total System usage is exceeding 16Gb+ of RAM so 32Gb is the new rule with the highest speed.
