Hello!
I would like to know if someone planned to make a RAM upgrade on this laptop?
The MSI support says that this laptop support a maximum of 16 GB of RAM, and after contacting the technical support, it says that is the design of the laptop that causes a limit of 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) without any more explanation (MB design? BIOS limit? Memory channel limit? Or just untested officially?).
On the other side, Intel's website says the CPU supports a max of 32 GB of memory (and 2 memory channels, I don't know if this information matters). The CPU is Intel Core i7 5700HQ.
So my question is:
- Is someone tried to put a 16 GB RAM module in this laptop? If yes, does it works?
- Is it possible that the laptop could support more than 16 GB of RAM but MSI just didn't planned this possibility of 2 x 16 GB?
(and no, I know this seems weird but I really need to get as much RAM as possible and my actual 12 GB is not enough, but I didn't planned this upgrade when I bought the laptop 2 years ago)
