MPG X870E CARBON WIFI - Didn't have any microphone problems until I updated to newest audio driver (6.4.0.2443). Using a 3.5mm mic, plugged into front panel. If I go into Audacity and record 20 consecutive 2-3 second recordings, about 2-4 of them will be 100% static. Not just static, but digital screeching/buzzing (VERY harsh electronic noise at MAXIMUM volume). Happened to me on a MS Teams meeting once too. People said it sounded like I was in a hurricane.
Did clean uninstall/reinstall and problem persists. Finally tried changing mic from 48khz 24 bit to 48khz 16 bit and that fixed it.
Definitely seems like a driver bug to me.
