Realtek Audio Missing After BIOS Update to 7D40vAF on MPG B760I EDGE WIFI DDR5

After updating the BIOS to version **7D40vAF**, the **onboard Realtek Audio Device disappeared** from Windows completely.
It is no longer visible in Device Manager — neither under sound devices nor under system devices (no "High Definition Audio Controller" either).

Trying to install or update the Realtek Audio Control on the Microsoft Store gives me the old **missing required driver: 'Realtek-RealtekHSA.inf'**
Also, on a different note, don't know if this is related to the BIOS update...probably is since it started right after — After trying to **Shut Down** and Windows doing its animation, the system stays in a state of all the LEDs, such as the Motherboard, case lighting and all the fans being still on and kicking.

Here is what I’ve tried so far:

- Confirmed HD Audio is Enabled in the BIOS, even with a quick OFF/ON cycle.
- Performed CMOS reset and loaded optimized defaults.
- Updated Intel Chipset drivers and MEI drivers from the official MSI site.
- Downgraded BIOS to an way earlier version 7D40vA7 with no success.
- Reinstalled latest Realtek AD multiple times (as well with an uninstall through DDU).
- Performed a complete clean WIndows install, multiple times for good measure.

First time posting and requesting help here...having honestly never any issues with MSI products, coming from 5 fully self-build systems, with them on the MB, GPU and PSU side.

Again, could you please help me, much obliged.

Flash back to your old BIOS version before the update.
If you already did this and no change, then either RMA the mainboard
or get and use external sound card [like USB or pci-e].

- Downgraded BIOS to an way earlier version 7D40vA7 with no success.

Try this older version instead:
7D40vA4

Flashed it with your tool and it worked like a charm, still have my drivers and everything. Again, much obliged for the help :]

Hi, sorry to open this up again but the past couple of days my originally mentioned shut down issue started happening again.

Basically the issue is upon shut down process it seems that all the fans and lights connected to the MB still run, display and any of the connected peripherals do not. Only option is to hold down the power button as restart or just simply pressing the power button doesn't do anything.

Don't know if flashing has bricked something but yeah, don't know what to do as I have tried a few things already with no success. Thanks.

Do you use have "fast startup" disabled from Windows?

The same happens with sleep as well, goes into a state where everything is 'off' this time even the LED, but the fans still run and stays unresponsive trying to wake the system. Only a hard reset holding the power button would let me boot again.

I haven't tried hibernate yet, but I imagine it's the same. The only thing working as intended is the restart option.
