Realtek Audio Missing After BIOS Update to 7E02v1E on PRO-B760M-P DDR4

Hello,

I have an **MSI PRO-B760M-P DDR4** motherboard. After updating the BIOS to version **7E02v1E**, the **onboard Realtek audio device disappeared** from Windows completely. It is no longer visible in Device Manager — neither under sound devices nor under system devices (no "High Definition Audio Controller" either).

Here is what I’ve tried so far:

- I confirmed **HD Audio is Enabled** in the BIOS.
- Performed **CMOS reset** and loaded optimized defaults.
- Updated **Intel Chipset drivers** and **MEI** drivers from the official MSI site.
- Updated everything wit MSI Live Update.
- **Downgraded BIOS to version 7E02v1A** 7E02v1B,7E02v1D,7E02v1A,7E02v19 but still no onboard audio.
- ME FW is still the latest one (shows as newer, cannot downgrade manually).
- Reinstall latest realtek audio driver multiple times.
- Uninstall realtek audio driver by DDU.
- Enabling / Disabling HD Audio in bios settings.

I have the same problem with this motherboard. Today I bought exact same motherboard and after updating the BIOS to 7E02v1E I have the same issue. Reinstalling all drivers and enabling and disabling options in BIOS are not effective. Realtek driver is installed on a computer, but it's not working or is visible in control panel - only useless Audio USB one.

it's likely the onboard Realtek audio device chip on the B760M-P board has suddenly died {aka. hardware problem}

Do you remember what was your older version prior to the BIOS update to the 7E02v1E?

What was your old BIOS version?

Try 1.7 BIOS (or older if needs) and see if that will works.

Hi, Has anyone fixed that realtek hd audio issue? i have the same b760mp DDR4 7E02 and recently upgraded to an intel i5 14400F and completely lost the realtek hd audio, I had to rollback to the only stable version that supports intel 14th gen that is version 1C (1.6), in which the audio works but has bugs with XMP (reaches only a maximum of 3000mhz even with xmp enabled) and other general stability issues.

Sorry i couldn't remember what was it. However downgrading to 1.6 (7E02v16) was fixed my issue for now. Thanks for all your help.

First I downgraded to the specific version which Alan provided me (1.81) then ensure that audio glitch has fixed then upgraded it to the latest bios version and audio is working smoothly from then.

Tried a version that I got from Alan, then tried to downgrade to a 7E02v16, but still cant force PC to recognize this driver, however the audio from monitors via NVIDIA is working, so that's my only solution atm. Better to stay on older versions of bios or update to the newest one and wait for the solution/RMA?

If so, Flash to the BIOS I provided

Verify the Realtech Audi device is showing in Device Manager
If it is, you can Flash to the latest BIOS
Do not downgrade from the BIOS I provide if Audio is displayed in the Device Manager

As long as the Realtech Audio is in Device Manager, it is just a case of getting drivers to Work.
This may be a different problem that needs a different approach to installing the Drivers.

If you do not get the Audio in Device Manager with BIOS 7E02v17
The board cannot be flashed with the other BIOS, as Audio needs to work first; you will have to RMA or Exchange for replacement via Warranty

It says it's version 7E02v16, so is there no other option than to replace it?
