Realtek Gaming 2.5GbE Family Controller Dropping Network

My Realtek Gaming 2.5GbE Family Controller keeps dropping network connection. Sometimes it will work perfectly, but often after I turn it on or do a restart it will drop. It will lag my PC horribly, and then eventually drop. I disabled Windows power saving and uninstalled, reinstalled the drivers. No luck.

Any help is much appreciated.

try installing the latest Realtek Gaming 2.5Gbe PCIe LAN drivers from the Realtek web site instead of the MSI site.
Realtek has released new versions around end of June 2026 and the ones from MSI are no longer the latest ones.

What do you mean with lagging your PC? I have never seen a slow network connection drag down system performance. If your system gets slowed down to a drag then I think we will have to look elsewhere like dropping PCIe speed.
