That Asus card is a realtek 2.5Gbp adapter so if the driver is broke this won't fix your issue.What do you think about this one?
Intel cards seem to be hard / expensive to get. I'll still get one if I don't have another option though.
Regarding 2.5G, my router and cables should be able to handle it when my ISP decides to give me more than 1 Gbps. And that'll probably happen soon-ish. They increased my speed from 100 Mbps to 300 Mbps for free. Then 300 to 600. It's expected that they'll increase it to 1 Gbps soon. And I'm sure they'll keep increasing it after that. So I think it would be a bit of a shame to get a 1 Gbps card.
