Hello,
I have msi z490 gaming plus and I have issue with integrated network adapter.
Under load, the network adapter sometimes resets. It happens several times a day.
An error appears in the windows log:
Error code 10400
"The network interface "Realtek PCIe 2.5GbE Family Controller" has begun resetting. There will be a momentary disruption in network connectivity while the hardware reset. Reason: The network driver detected that its hardware has stopped responding to commands. This network interface has reset 3 time(s) since in was initialized."

Installed 10.048. Now the NIC only connects at 100 Mbit, never 2,5Gbit. So something is clearly not working

Interesting, I have the same issue. I've tried changing settings around in the driver and made sure 2.5gbps Full Duplex is enabled. Still only connects at 100mbit. I am using a Cat 6 cable connected to a gigabit switch.

edit: on the switch and on the mobo ethernet port the link light is green which should indicate a gigabit link yet windows reports 100mbps. Very strange.

edit 2: I booted into a Linux live CD. Link speed is 100mbps in there too. This is a hardware, not a driver, issue. Unless there is something that can be changed in BIOS this is most certainly a hardware defect.

Definitely a driver issue with 10.0.48. Even though I still have minimal drops with the 10.0.47, which is not acceptable. It runs at full duplex 2.5Gbit. I am using CAT7 connected directly to a Technicolor CGM43341 Gateway and have also tried it connected directly to my Asus RT-AX86U's 2.5Gbit port.

latest driver working for me yay !! before when I download a file, it would fail. Now, even when computer starts screensaver or shuts off monitor, the download continues.

Hi all.
I was having similar problems when using the Realtek adapter on my Z490 Tomahawk. In fact, I would reliably suffer a BSOD whenever I ran Qbittorrent. I tried every different driver I could find. I spent days trying to acquire one that would work normally.
I never did. In the end the only solution was to disable the Realtek NIC in the bios and use the Intel 1g.

It has worked wonderfully.

I'm disappointed to be using the slower card but at least that nightmare is over (Now if only I could upgrade Intel MEI)

The realtek NIC on my z490 gaming plus is still only linking at 100/100 instead of at 1000/1000 in either windows or linux. I contacted MSI support. Their solution is to RMA the board. Not sure if that would actually help in this case since any replacement would have the same realtek NIC on it.

You should try another cable.

Did it was 1000/1000 before you update the driver to latest V.48?
Did you check the far End settings or HW capability? if the far end is not configured to be 2.5G as well or capable of doing so both ends will negotiate the max possible speed allowed for them both at the same time. 100Mb/s for me as the LAN ports in my TPlink router is only capable of doing so.

Thx.

Amazed by how long it can take nowadays to fix issues / how little anyone cares about consumer happiness / functionality of consumer level products. (It's not only this MSI/Realtek issue but in general, any product. SW also. E.g. Lastpass took 5 months to fix chrome plugin "buttons move while hovering over them" bug that was 5 seconds change in CSS styles...).
MSI customer service gets plus for the fast response (so there really is a customer service and not just a bot, which is kinda miracle already today) but unfortunately the expertise wasn't that high level. "Have you tried turning it off and on again? Have you updated the bios? Have you reset the bios? We're sorry, please contact the reseller". It's not like MSI wouldn't be aware of e.g. this thread here is it? I found this thread after the chat with them. Equally helpful and "aware of the problem" they were about the sleep wake issues with this chipset (the black screen for few seconds, then fans accelerating and mobo rebooting).

And then to the actual topic:
I bought x570 Tomahawk last November and LAN worked fine for several months until these "connection loss + crash all network routers" issues began. I'm running 10.47.xxx and the setting tweaks mentioned in this thread fixed the suddenly appeared issue for another month or two, but then today when waking the PC from Win10 sleep, I had no Realtek LAN device detected at all. Reboot didn't fix it, had to power off and switch off the PSU for a bit to make it appear again. Anyone else having this kind of issue or is my chipset also faulty in some other way besides this driver issue? I did find some similar issues googling, but with no real answers.

I wonder how much of the drop outs are on the other end as well. I downloaded from STEAM with 10.47 and noticed a lot of slowdowns and dropouts. Then I downloaded 82 GB from Epic Games and NO dropouts and the stream was above my download speed of 400 Mbps for the entire download...and it only took 12 minutes. I think there has to be a way to fix this.

I don't have any dropouts or slowdowns at all. It's either completely out & screwing the rest of the LAN too or then works normally. Well, and third option now is that the whole NIC just magically disappears :cautious:.
