Hi! I've got a GT70 2QD, originally with 970m GPU. Recently, I've installed a 1070 GPU with MSI vBIOS on it.
BIOS doesn't see the new GPU, but Win10 does (some standard windows display adapter). Had to modify the 'inf' file in nVidia's driver package to install it.
As it stands now, the 1070 only works over HDMI OUT (as soon as the HDMI is plugged in, the laptop display goes black), the fans ramp up when a game is started and slow down when in desktop.
Some 3D intensive games stutter and sometimes crash to desktop. I'm still using the 180W PSU.
Can a modified BIOS/EC make this new GPU work properly (like, have laptop display working with both cards, BIOS recognizing the card, maybe even Win10 take clean drivers)?
Thanks in advance, donation sent, cheers!
