Hi, I just bought a reconditioned Rtx 4090 Suprim X and it comes with a 3x8 pin cable and in msi afterburner the power limit doesn't go up more than 100%, could the cable be the problem?
The solution would be to buy one of 4x8 pins?

the Normal RTX 4090 Suprim X comes with a 3 X 8 pin Cable and the Liquid comes with a 4 X 8 pin Cable due to heat Dissipation.

Even if you got a 4 X 8 Pin Cable its not likely it will pull more then 100% as if i Remember correctly its limited in its BIOS to 100% and the Liquid to 109%

my power supply is 1000w but it is old and gives 150w on 8 pins
with the 3x8 pin cable it does not give me more than 450w playing
I just want to make sure that buying the 4x8 pin cable the consumption will go up to 520w, which is what the graph shows
is it ballast?

the card can pull 480W Max 520W would be a massive overclock and Over Voltage on it unless its a Unicorn GPU 520W is not Realistic at all as that is 115.5% the power as 450W is 100%.

it may go up a bit with a 4 X 8Pin Cable but it may top out at 480W I'm not 100% sure what it will do as they never tell us only if you get one will you then Know.

What vbios the GPU uses? [look in gpu-z, advanced tab, then move scroller to "nvidia bios" to see it]

Solved as soon as I put the 4x8 pin cable and the msi afterburner lets me put the power limit at 108%.
the problem was the cable then
