Hi everyone,
I'm having a strange UEFI/GOP issue with my Palit GeForce RTX 5060 Infinity 3 on an MSI B650 motherboard, and after extensive troubleshooting I haven't been able to solve it.
I'm posting here because I would like to know whether I am missing a specific BIOS setting, or if this could be a compatibility issue between the MSI UEFI/AGESA and the VBIOS/GOP implementation on this particular Palit RTX 5060.
If I manage to configure the system for UEFI using the Ryzen integrated graphics and then reconnect/power the RTX 5060, I get a black screen during boot.
The RTX 5060 works normally when the system is running in CSM mode.
RTX 5060 disconnected/unpowered + integrated graphics → UEFI works correctly.
I was able to switch the motherboard to UEFI and configure Secure Boot successfully.
However:
RTX 5060 installed/powered + UEFI → black screen / GOP problem.
Even when attempting to use the integrated graphics as the display output, having the RTX 5060 present and powered causes the problem.
In CSM mode, however:
RTX 5060 + CSM → works normally.
NVFlash reports:
Current VBIOS:
I also found a newer-looking Palit RTX 5060 VBIOS:
BIOS-P/N@N15345
while my card is:
BIOS-P/N@N15239
Therefore, I have NOT cross-flashed this VBIOS, as I don't want to risk flashing firmware intended for another board revision.
I have contacted/will contact Palit to ask whether a newer official VBIOS exists specifically for N15239.
However, I don't want to assume that the GPU/VBIOS is definitely the culprit.
Is there any MSI BIOS setting related to GOP initialization, PCIe initialization, primary graphics adapter, CSM, Secure Boot, or integrated/discrete graphics that I may have missed?
Has anyone experienced the same "There is no GOP support detected in this card" message with an RTX 50-series GPU on an MSI B650/AM5 motherboard?
I would particularly appreciate input from MSI support or anyone familiar with GOP/UEFI initialization on RTX 50-series cards.
I would also like to know if there are any additional diagnostic steps I can perform before considering the GPU defective or attempting any VBIOS update/cross-flash.
Thanks in advance for any help.

The problem
Whenever I try to switch the motherboard from CSM to pure UEFI mode with the RTX 5060 installed and powered, the BIOS displays:The motherboard then automatically falls back to CSM."There is no GOP support detected in this card. BIOS CSM/UEFI Mode settings in BIOS will be changed to CSM."
If I manage to configure the system for UEFI using the Ryzen integrated graphics and then reconnect/power the RTX 5060, I get a black screen during boot.

RTX 5060 information
- GPU: Palit GeForce RTX 5060 Infinity 3
- Product P/N: NE75060019P1-GB2063S
- GPU: NVIDIA GB206
- VRAM: 8 GB GDDR7
- Device ID: 10DE:2D05
- Subsystem ID: 1569
- Current VBIOS: 98.06.21.40.23
- BIOS Board P/N according to NVFlash: N15239
- GPU-Z reports: UEFI Supported ✓
Troubleshooting already performed
I have tried all of the following:- Updated the MSI motherboard to the latest BIOS.
- Tested four different motherboard BIOS versions.
- Cleared/reset BIOS settings while testing.
- Forced the main PCIe slot to Gen4 instead of Auto/Gen5.
- Disabled Re-Size BAR.
- Disabled Above 4G Memory.
- Tested different combinations of the above settings.
- Tested pure UEFI using the Ryzen integrated graphics.
- Tested setting the integrated graphics as the primary display.
- Tested with the RTX 5060 installed and powered while the monitor was connected directly to the motherboard.
- Disconnected all DisplayPort/HDMI cables from the RTX 5060.
- Completely disconnected power from the RTX 5060 and booted using only the integrated graphics.
RTX 5060 disconnected/unpowered + integrated graphics → UEFI works correctly.
I was able to switch the motherboard to UEFI and configure Secure Boot successfully.

VBIOS investigation
I backed up the original RTX 5060 VBIOS and checked it with GPU-Z and NVFlash.NVFlash reports:
Current VBIOS:
- Version: 98.06.21.40.23
- ID: 10DE:2D05:1569:F328
- BIOS-P/N: N15239 (Normal Board)
I also found a newer-looking Palit RTX 5060 VBIOS:
- Version: 98.06.39.40.E3
- Device ID: 10DE:2D05
- Subsystem ID: 1569:F328
- Same GPU clocks
- Same 8 GB GDDR7 configuration
- UEFI supported
BIOS-P/N@N15345
while my card is:
BIOS-P/N@N15239
Therefore, I have NOT cross-flashed this VBIOS, as I don't want to risk flashing firmware intended for another board revision.
I have contacted/will contact Palit to ask whether a newer official VBIOS exists specifically for N15239.
Current behavior summary
| Configuration | Result |

| RTX 5060 + CSM | Works |
| RTX 5060 + pure UEFI | GOP error / black screen |
| iGPU + RTX disconnected/unpowered + UEFI | Works |
| iGPU primary + RTX powered + UEFI | Black screen |
| PCIe Auto | Same problem |
| PCIe forced Gen4 | Same problem |
| ReBAR disabled | Same problem |
| Above 4G disabled | Same problem |
| Different MSI BIOS versions | Same problem |
| GPU-Z UEFI detection | Supported ✓ |
My current suspicion
At this point, my main suspicion is that there may be an issue with the UEFI GOP initialization of this specific Palit RTX 5060 VBIOS/board revision (N15239), or possibly an interoperability issue between its GOP implementation and the MSI B650 UEFI/AGESA.However, I don't want to assume that the GPU/VBIOS is definitely the culprit.
