SATA set to raid

I have some problem with my new k8t neo with SATA. It detects the disc but it says that the disk is set to raid

what SATA port shall i use?

any jumpers?

or bios?

What controller are you using now? If it is the Promise then launch the wizard by pressing the keys during boot and choose the disable array (or something like that) and dissable the array. If you have the RAID driver already installed in Windows, you might see a decrease in performance. If you reinstall Windows with the new driver you should be OK.

first u should have connected the SATA hdd to one of the controllers using the orange cable ... if so .. which one .. and make sure that controller is enabled in the bios then boot the pc at the point u see via controller hit "tab" and set up an array or "control & f" keys i think for the promise .. when the pc reboots press f11 .. with the xp cd in ur drive tell it to boot that and when u get the first blue screen hit the f6 key several times (install 3rd party raid drivers) .. win will ask u to insert the floppy for the controller ur using .. only other thing is to set the raid as ur boot device in the bios if not already done

If it is only SATAa you want to run, use the VIA drivers on the floppy at F6, disable the Promise Raid driver, by going to Integrated pripherals in Bios, then onboard PCI controller, then P20378, set it to disabled. SAVE and reset

At F6 prompt ( S) load the 2 via drivers, then goes to setup, partition and format, then installs.

PS. Sata drives don't have jumpers, use SATA1 and SATA2, make sure no sharp bends in SATA cables, and that connectors are on straight.

IDE drives - if WD remove jumper, rest set as needed

Hi

Ok, the MOBO does not have any jumpers for the SATA drives, all set in BIOS.

as long as promise disabled it should be OK.

Keep the VIA controllers in Integrated peripherals enabeled - P.ATA and S.ATA,

then boot sequence to boot, BB drives are SATA in list, I use floppy first(seek enabled), then CD, then BB1(sata1), other boot devices enabled.

Works fine.
