Buy what you can afford, there is no such thing as "future proof".

At my age just about everything but phones are future proof. I just want it to run good. I have the 7700x now at 4.8 no overclocked
Most of the problems reported in the Forums for AMD have the X3D CPU. I would avoid them as they are only of use if you're gaming at 1080p, and I see you have a Radeon R9700XT
So I would say you're playing at 1440 or above, making the X3D of little value

The Rig you have will do well for the next 3 years, I would save my pennies and look at doing an upgrade in 2 years.

And well, got to ask why do you have three DVD Readers like WHY?????????????

Boost clocks on most CPU's make upgrading pointless, unless you need more cores. My i511600K runs at 4.9 because of the boost clock when it's needed. I play all my games at 1080p so i don't need anything more.

I use 7600X and I'm very happy with it. Also playing at 4k with RTX4090, and I am yet to experience bottleneck on CPU side.
I considered upgrade to 9800X3D but gains at 1440p and above are minimal, not worth the money and time.

I had over 20%+ fps increase in quite few games even in 3440x440 going from older nonx3d to 9800x3d.
It depend on game, somewhere you get few % but there are plenty giving 20-50% increase even on 1440p, bello is few examples and thats still with GPU bottleneck using 4070ti.

Even going from 7950 to 9800x3d you get 20% in RDR2, 30% in WD legion, 30% in Horizon ZD, 25% in God of War, etx.

And thats for averages, in 1% minimum increase is much higher on x3d.
