I recently bought the X870 Tomahawk to use with a 9800x3d and Corsair 2x16Gb 6000CL30 EXPO (CMK32GX5M2B6000Z30) but I'm having lots of issues...
Frequent crashes (windows sometimes shows "Clock watchdog timeout" BSOD, sometimes no blue screen), my NVME drives sometimes disappear (I need to turn off the power completely, a reboot isn't enough to show it again) making the OS unable to boot and I could not get the Wifi to work.

Today during a reboot there was a warning that the hardware changed so I press F1 to open the bios and the EXPO profile simply disappeared! I exit the bios, boot the system and now it only shows 4Gb of RAM?!? The system is very slow too.
I'm using the latest bios, but it isn't stable, please advise.

Yes I have a 9800x3d and msi mag tomahawk x870 every time I restart my pc my monitor don’t come on pc is on though and I have a green light on motherboard. is it a display issue ? or does the pc get stuck ? I have to manually press the power button again for it to come on . Someone said it could be the front panel connectors ? I don’t know

Goin of previous knowledge here
but the Txt document symbol should be search
Can you click on it and enter Hot in the search terms
That should bring up the swap option
will ask if our Contact can have a look as well just in case it got accidentally hidden

Please power off the monitor for 5 to 10 seconds and then turn it back on, I have had this happen sometimes with my Carbon on a Restart and powering the Monitor off and on gets signal back

I've tried the search and sata or hot dont bring up anything besides swapping from ahci to raid.

Hello everyone,

Just to let you know, I also have this motherboard with a 9800X3D.

And like you, I’m encountering issues:

  1. 1)Sometimes, at startup, it tells me that I’ve changed my hardware.

2) I get BSODs when I enable AMD EXPO. I have this RAM:
G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo White RGB - 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) 6000 MHz - CAS 28

  1. 3) I also have the problem of losing my screen's signal at startup (making it difficult to access the BIOS...). I sometimes have to unplug and replug the screen; it's terrible... I'm using an RTX 4090 with an Odyssey Neo G8.
But the main issue is really the blue screens...

There are no hot swap settings for X870 Tomahawk. See also “AMD 800 series BIOS”.

If you read all this, then what is available is really BETA status regarding UEFI. I have never had so many problems with any Asus board. The hardware specs of the board read well, but the UEFI is a disaster compared to Asus.

Regarding the problem that I am only shown a picture on the Windows login screen when I restart, I can say that I currently only have an HDMI cable on the graphics card and the picture output is 100% at system startup. The monitor is set to WQHD, 144 Hz and FreeSync. The MSI board definitely has a problem with DisplayPort. I have also found topics here where this was the case with Intel boards.

The long boot times, the DisplayPort problem, HD audio cannot be deactivated, ODD is not displayed in the UEFI... The standard fan settings in terms of speed are far too low. Then there's something I haven't noticed yet. For the first two problems, I have almost no hope that this will be fixed, as the problems have existed for so long (since the 600 boards). The time I've already spent here is terrible. Next time I should probably spend €200 more on an Asus board and I'll have peace of mind.

Are you still on the A10 or already higher, e.g. on the A17? With the A10, i.e. the version with which the board was delivered, EXPO did not work for me either.

If the RAM is F5-6000J3238F16GX2-TZ5NRW, then it is not in the QVL of the board.
