Simple Feature Request

Having upgraded from an Asus Ally Z1 Extreme, I've spent around a year with my arguably superior Claw 8 AI +. However, if not for Steam and it's ability to map a controller, I would have sold it back when I forked out the cash for it.

Taking example from my experience with the Asus handheld as well as Steams feature, I don't understand why the ability to remap desktop mode is not included in the native MSI Center M. Furthermore, the M1 & M2 buttons are wasted by only having the ability to be mapped to a single key/function. Once again, Steam to the rescue with its "Action Layer" feature of controller mapping, although the M1/M2 buttons are not recognised. For those unaware this means you can map a button that, when pressed (and held), essentially turns your entire controller into a new set of mapped keys/functions. Not being able to use M1/M2 buttons via Steam means this can only be done by surrendering any of the standard buttons, which again is frustrating. Another limitation is that all of this is only possible with Steam running, and it won't work when using certain system level apps like installers.

I contacted the support centre back when I purchased the device about this, and was simply told there are no plans to implement these features. I sincerely hope a future update brings these seemingly standard features in the future. Not only does it further the customization aspect, but with specific profiles per game, it enables you to play a tonne of other titles that require a lot more input and otherwise not controller friendly, for example strategy games.

Thanks.

As you can see half a year passed since that post and we still have no major updates for Center M, only bugfixes.
