Slow boot on GT83VR 6RE Titan SLI

Lately my GT83VR 6RE Titan has been taking a long time to boot, like 5 minutes and up. It sits with the MSI logo on the screen the whole time. Once it gets past that, and finally gets into loading windows, it operates normally and loads windows quite fast. I am wondering if this could be a problem within bios? I am not good at messing with BIOS so I don't even know how to go about checking that. Figured I would post this in the hopes that someone else has encountered this issue and knows how to fix it.

You did BIOS update or any other updates before this situation started?
Is your system installed on SSD or HDD?
Use this tool to export and share the system info file here.

Best to check the S.M.A.R.T report of the boot drive - https://hddscan.com/ for instance.
I downloaded that scanner. It wouldn't give me a S.M.A.R.T report, giving me an error code, but I was able to run the read and write tests on my boot drive. They came back clean, no bad sectors, with most of them coming in at <5ms, with only 3 sectors at <10ms and 17 sectors at <20ms (it's a 256gb NVMe drive). I have run windows drive error checking, it comes back with no errors found. I don't think the slow boot is a drive issue, due to where it remains stuck at for so long. upon first boot up, it sticks on the initial MSI boot screen, long enough for me to go take a shower (seems to be about 5 minutes or so). Once it gets past that and starts to show the various bios information it then boots quite fast (will also boot fast if I do a restart from inside windows).

Make sure EC firmware is up to date and do the EC reset.
How long does it take before you see a few white dots shows up under the MSI logo?
And is the fast startup option enabled or not? (the option is in Control Panel > Power Options > System Settings).

Hey guys,

So was this problem sovled? I'm having the same exact issue only with 7RF.
There is that specific "click" sound when u power up your laptop and I've noticed the sys is stuck on MSI logo until it occurs. Like Codyeby said Windows is running normally etc, boots up fast but if you turn off your laptop for a longer period of time the issue is there again.

Did you also try to update BIOS and EC firmware?
May I know what the sound like? Can you record this sound ?

Sorry for the late reply. EC and BIOS are both up to date on my laptop. No new updates on these since 2018.

Here is the sound when laptop turns on. I'll point out again that it was always there.

Checking either the RAM or storage devices, the slow boot might be caused by those connected devices responding slowly.

So i just finished with Windows Memory Diagnostics tool and it detected nothing. Both of my hard drives which are Samsung EVO970 SSD and WD HDD are also fine. No idea where to go from here. Should I just try to disconnect the hdd first and run my laptop without it?

You can try that, or format your disk and reinstall the system again to identify if it's a hardware-related issue.
