SOLUTION| How to fix ALL problems with MSI GF63 Thin 9RCX/9RC/9SC/8RC/10SX (Lag & stutter & power limit) CUSTOM EC

Hello everyone,
When I bought the MSI GF63 laptop I have experienced many issues with it including stuttering in games like (GTA V/Just cause 3 & 4 / Youtube Vids and much more..) so today I'm going to show you how to fix ALL of the issues that you are going to experience when buying this laptop, I tried everything from replacing HDD to getting an SSD still the same issue, but today I found the ultimate fix for it.

DISCLAIMER: I'M NOT ASSOCIATED WITH MSI BY ANY WAY, ALL OF THE FILES PROVIDED HERE ARE CUSTOMIZED AND TESTED BY ME SO DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK; MODDING THE EC CAN BE RISKY IF YOU SCREW UP UR EC CHIP IS BRICKED WITH NO EASY WAY TO RESTORE. This firmware is tested by me and have WORKED for me on my (Tested on : MSI GF63 9RCX). SO AGAIN DONT COME HERE BLAMING ME IF UR LAPTOP IS BRICKED.

-How to fix LAG/Stutter:
This is caused by memory, the memory sticks that get put in these MSI laptops when bought stock are not ideal for gaming so the only solution to fix this is to either enable XMP which I'm not sure if you can do on the GF63 series laptops or increase the System Agent clock speed to 1GHZ (FCLK frequency)

STEP 1 | Go to your bios :

You can do this by simply shutting down your laptop then powering it on and spam the DELETE key and the bios UI should pop on.
STEP 2 | Unlock hidden options:
When you are in the BIOS menu go to the "Advanced" tab then click this keyboard combination (LCRTL + LSHIFT + ALT + F2).
After doing this you should see options that look like this :
View attachment 140243Q
STEP 3 | Overclocking the FCLK Frequency (Aka System Agent clock speed):
In the advanced TAB go to the "CPU Information" option:
View attachment 140245
Then scroll down and find "FCLK Frequency for Early Power On":
View attachment 140246
Click on it then select "1GHZ" the default value for MSI laptops is 800Mhz which is not ideal.
Then go back to the "Save & Exit" tab and select save changes and reset, don't freak out your laptop will bootloop 1 or 2 times because it's training the components (memory etc).
IF your laptop doesn't power on then here's what you do (This is very unlikely):
- Disconnect the AC adapter
- Hold the power button for 30s
- Connect the AC Adapter
- Done you should be able to boot up again after CMOS reset.
STEP 4 | Voila!/Congrats
- Your lag should be fixed and you are ready to go my friend! I suggest not go any further now if you don't want to take the risk.
- If this didn't work for you then it's most likely a ram issue try running Windows Memory Diagnostics tools and check for errors (Tutorial)

-Get more performance out of your laptop :
DISCLAIMER: I'm not responsible for any damages that could happen while you are flashing this firmware, it has been tested on the MSI GF63 Thin 9RCX/10SX. If you brick your laptop it's your fault and only yours.

This is a custom firmware I modified for MSI GF63 Thin series which will raise UP the the power limit from 25W to 45w which is the normal TDP for the 8750H/9750H, This should def give you more performance in games. (25% Increase) my temps were about 94-96 but this is in a very hot environment because it's summer out here. I suggest you always run this with cooler boost.

was looking for something to help me since my games lag but i couldn;t download the custom firmware

Full of bugs and problems within MSI notebook. The first day I unpack the Gf66 laptop and saw that the power button wasn't placed at center above keyword, instead it was at the top right corner of the keyboard, I sense fxxing noob trouble in this laptop. The longer you use the more stupid thing you can discover.

Bottom half of the power cable is so much shorter than the upper half. If you place that charger on the floor, the cable probably won't be long enough for you to plug in to your laptop.

All the audio and hdmi docking is on the same side as your mouse, which makes you feel so comfortable with a bunch of things blocking your right hand.

Left half of Keyboard have larger keys, but the keys on the numpad are so much smaller with important keys like page up, page dn, home and end. The fn key is also placed in an awkward position where you cannot press fn + all the Fx keys within the range of your thumb and last finger.

CPU frequency can't be limited with builtin windows power settings. How funny you need to use energy efficient class 1 to limit the frequency

The only nice thing about the laptop is its GPU, but they screw it up with p0 state idle. Generating excessive heat and consuming 30w at wake up. The clock speed of GPU can't even be modified with MSI software, no wonder why they chop their price so much for a laptop with high end card. Not sure how this Nvidia HD audio device can interfere with the idle state of the GPU, but you must install it even if you don't use them.

Bro is there any firmware like this for katana gf76 same problem also sudden battery drop during boot it happens only the first boot when the battery is below 50% and current edp limit throttling when idle

Just tried both of these. My model uses the i5-9300H which is already helping, but the memory FCLK increase fixed the stutter and works with my Patriot memory i swapped the stock memory with.

The EC firmware, at first I didn't think I needed because I had already done the IMON offset with the advanced bios to trick the CPU into thinking its drawing less power. It holds 78 watts sustained now, and surprisingly my laptops single fan can keep it cool with CoolerBoost enabled.

However, I decided to try OPS custom firmware and its actually running the same *but cooler,* which is great. Probably because OP removed the power limit without faking the amperage reading like I did, so less amps, less heat.

All in all, this works well, but when an EC update arrives....
how can i download the OPS firmware

From his description, it's not very clear what exactly was adjusted, but I suspect you might be experiencing overheating or performance issues. In this situation, I recommend that you use Cinebench R20 and Time Spy (3DMark) to first check your laptop's performance. If there is an issue with thermal capacity, it will usually impact performance as well. If you confirm that there is a problem, I suggest repasting the thermal paste to resolve the issue.

When I use this file to update my bios, it gives me the error “product ID is incorrect”. how can I fix it, or is there a version that is suitable for MSI GF63 Thin 9SCSR laptop (i7-9750H & GTX 1650ti)?

Thanks
