Solutions to majority of problems related to Restore/ Recovery / MSI F3 factory Reset

You can try this:
Boot from a Windows installation USB and open Command Prompt (Shift + F10 at setup screen):

Code:
bootrec /fixmbr
bootrec /fixboot
bootrec /scanos
bootrec /rebuildbcd

If this fails come back.
as far as I know either bootrec /fixmbr or bootrec /fixboot will give permission denied or something, but I'll give it a shot

edit: I tried as suggested and system cannot find the path specified (why?)

winre tools partition already get formatted by msi recovery tools, good thing that I have backup from another MSI laptop for that winre partition
so I recovered that winre partition
How exactly did you do that?
using windows installation media to delete windows partition and create MSR partition
did you use cmd prompt?
MSI F3_Recovery_USB and it's successfully recovered the system
but it's not stop there, after I recovered the system, I can't boot to windows
it gives me 0xc0000034 error

Most probably because your recovery file is windows 10 and your current system was windows 11. i Guess you should this a try this link here.

I have backup image using Acronis
yes I use cmd prompt to create MSR partition
it's weird actually, I have another ASUS laptop that has Windows 10 recovery image but ESP partition and other work just fine (it's on Windows 11 before recovery)
I think it has something to do with ESP partition, it was working before, but I delete Windows partition to create MSR partition first and then create Windows partition (NTFS formatted)

Not sure if im allowed to post files here but since i am kind enough to do so here is the bios_rvy partition taken from a MSI thin 11SC taken using macrium reflect 8 free you guys can modify this as you please once you restore this to a drive since upload speeds is slow at the moment i will share the link at a later date

Said link for the file mentioned

BIOS_RVY

trying said image on a 12UCX theres gonna be a file inside that image called SKUNAME.TXT you may have to change that depending on what model you have i will also tell you how to access the files after restoring my image backup

Step 1: Open cmd as admin
Step 2: Type diskpart
Step 3: Type list vol
Step 4: Select vol x X can be anything you just have to look for the one labled as bios_rvy
Step 5: Type assign letter= x X can be anything you want its just the drive letter
Step 6: Once you are done with any modifications you can unmount said volume by typing
remove letter=R

You have two Recovery Partitions. Did you update Windows to a new .... (don´t know the word) ???
From 23H2 to 24H2 or something?
Restoring the MSI Factory Settings brings you then back to 23H2. Windows Update will say - here is a newer release and want to update.
So whats the point to go back to the Factory Settings?

As another remark: A 20 GB Recovery Partition looks crazy big.

Have a nice evening.

I wish you a good day. I'm writing from Türkiye. I'm not a native English speaker, so I used the translation. Please forgive any errors.
About three weeks ago, I bought the MSI Vector 17 HW AI A2XWJG model. I experienced sound problems for the first few days. Even though I uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers, the problem persisted. I created a recovery file on a USB drive using MSI Center Recovery, then did a clean Win 11 reinstall, reinstalled the drivers, and the sound problem disappeared. Unfortunately, F3 Recovery is gone. When I try to reinstall from USB, I constantly receive the Reagentc.exe set false error. No matter what I've tried, I've tried almost every solution published online, but to no avail. Most recently, when I tried to open the Install.swm file in either the USB drive or the Recovery partition on my hard drive with 7zip, I realized it wouldn't open. The install.swm file is likely corrupt, preventing the installation. Now, I'm asking all MSI users, if anyone has an MSI Vector 17 HW AI A2XWJG laptop, could you share the recovery partition (Bios_RVY) online? Or if anyone knows another solution, I'd be grateful. Thank you.

did a clean Win 11 reinstall,
You meant you used windows 11 iso to reinstall not the usb you created?
constantly receive the Reagentc.exe set false error
was you laptop windows 10? this error may happen when you try to install windows10 usb recovery over windows 11.
when I tried to open the Install.swm file in either the USB drive or the Recovery partition on my hard drive with 7zip, I realized it wouldn't open. The install.swm file is likely corrupt
if this is the case then you may be out of luck. But normally it should not happen. Those install.swm file should not be corrupted. try combining all those install.swm files into single wim file by using DISM++. if you can access that single wim file then there is hope to get your recovery back.

When I open install.swm with Dism++ and try to export it, it gives me a warning saying "Error. The file or directory is corrupt and unreadable." I am sharing the pictures.

If that is the case then i don't think we can do anything on that. just intall windows 11 and install drivers from official msi website.
If you want to create your own f3 recovery, then follow the tutorial.

Hello!

I had a problem with the sound drivers on my MSI Vector 17 HX AI A2XWJG computer, which I bought about three weeks ago. After backing up the MSI Center via USB, I installed Win 11 Home Single Language without deleting the BIOS RVY on the SSD. Later, when I tried to restore using F3, I saw that there was no MSI recovery partition in the F3 partition. Then, when I tried to restore using USB, I received a Reagentc.exe error. I tried the fixes provided online, but unfortunately, I was unsuccessful. Finally, I read the tutorial on this site several times and followed the instructions in the tutorial to the letter.

1- I started a clean install with the Win 11 Home Single Language ISO file. I manually configured the HDD during the installation.
1- efi 300
2- mrs 128
3- C partition,
4- WinRE tools 900 mb
5- I created the recovery partition and finally created the Bios_RVY. After setting WinRE and Bios RVY to d="de94bba4-06d1-4d40-a16a-bfd50179d6ac" and GPT attributes=0x8000000000000001, I installed Windows. I completed it.

2- After installing the computer's drivers and necessary programs, I backed up the install.Win using the Dism++ program you mentioned in the tutorial. I then converted it to a swm using cmd: Dism /Split-Image /ImageFile:C:\sources\install.wim /SWMFile:C:\sources\install.swm /FileSize:4700. I then added the resulting install.swm files 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 to the BIOSRvy.

3- I checked if WinRE was running on the computer by running reagentc /info in cmd. I saw that it was running and that it was registered in part 4.

4- As mentioned in the tutorial, I downloaded "MSI's F3_Recovery_USB" and saved its contents to a USB drive. I restarted my computer and booted from the USB drive with F11. When I confirmed the recovery and asked for installation, I received the error "The recovery procedure from recoverydvd has not been seccessfully finished. If you wish to revovery it again, please re-boot from Recoverydvd#1 later."

I've double-checked my work, and I've formatted and restarted the system several times, but I keep getting the same error.

Could you please double-check what I've done to see where I'm going wrong? Thank you.

Dism /Split-Image /ImageFile:C:\sources\install.wim /SWMFile:C:\sources\install.swm /FileSize:4700.
why 4700? it should be 4GB or less, try dism++ to convert that install.wim to install.swm
then added the resulting install.swm files 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 to the BIOSRvy
those files should be placed inside "RecoveryImage" folder on Bios_rvy partition.
I downloaded "MSI's F3_Recovery_USB"
try this file

Thank you for your reply.
Firstly, 4700 was written by mistake. During conversion, I divided it into 3072MB partitions, creating 7 partitions. I also placed the Recover yImage file inside the BIOS RVY folder. I also tried using the "F3 Upgrade USB" program you shared, but the result was the same; I received the same error.
I only performed the SWM conversion via CMD. Would the result be different if I used Dism++ or Nlite? I'm not sure.
