[SOLVED] Hi all - this issue was solved by Svet. Just wanted to note that Svet diagnosed and fixed the issue quicker and more accurately than MSI, with whom I raised a ticket a few days ago and who have not provided any meaningful information or steps at all. I am very grateful for Svet and others on the forums helping us all out. As we all know, our PCs are highly valuable bits of equipment not just for our bank accounts but for our lives, and without forum vigilantes like Svet, I feel a lot of us would be completely lost and also vulnerable. so THANKYOU!

Hi everyone!!

I was wondering if somebody could help me as I've found myself in a bit of a pickle...

Basically, I successfully installed the latest BIOS file using M-FLASH (E7D25IMS.1L0)...

Now, I'm unable to update ME Firmware--> The-MSI ME FW Tool fails to update to the latest version (16.1.35.2557):

r/MSI_Gaming - Anyone else having problems with latest ME firmware updates?
The log file (generated by the MSI ME FW Tool) states:
"Error 363: Update to incompatible PMC: The PMC instance ID is different, which may be due to H/LP SKU"

Anndd... my system remains vulnerable:

r/MSI_Gaming - Anyone else having problems with latest ME firmware updates?

I tried updating with a S&H version of the ME firmware from this website. When I run the FW Update Tool, command prompt opens for a fraction of a second then closes - nothing more happens.

I've seen a few other reports of this happening to people during previous updates - and the problem seems to have always come from update tool provided by MSI being bugged.

Will there be another release of this firmware? Or can anybody shed some more light on what's going on?

CPU-Z screens below/ sysinfo32 + CPU-Z reports attached.

Hi, thanks for the response. My current ME firmware version is 16.32.4173 i.e., the firmware associated with the previous BIOS update (see CSME screenshot above).

Why do you think the Flash BIOS button will work?

I did try to use the UEFI forum tool to try and flash the BIOS in DOS, and the same error message popped up.

Thank you!

For some issues,(like this) the possible solutions are not indented for public due different reasons.

I must be missing something, because I don't understand what the solution was. I don't see how private PMs can help others that may be having the same problem and are looking for a solution.
Svet may have his own reasons but my view is that if the specific solution to this problem was publicised on this forum, people would follow it blindly. Without guidance (I had a few follow up questions that Svet answered, and the solution was based on my specific ME and BIOS logs) it could lead to various issues on the users PC. So its best to be PMing a technician whilst you troubleshoot.
