Fixed the issue, thanks for the help!
I went through the steps in the guide and my dynamic display play is still blank with numbers above it. I did notice after I ran the update tool and restarted and check doesn't seem like the update held as the version is shows the same as before the update. Any other help appreciated.

Did the tool finish the update?
Please try again but first quit any program that can make use of the bus like HWInfo, Dragon Center etc
If you are still unsuccessful please contact MSI support. They are aware of the issue and will probably ask you to RMA the motherboard

@Furna I think the point of the question was rather than p.m. every single person individually wouldn’t it be more better conceptually to just post a solution and links to said solution instead of having to have every single person sit here and wait for you to respond?

Anyway I am having the exact same issue just spent A significant amount of money on a beautiful build decided to go with The msi Meg z490 godlike went to update The screen on the motherboard through dragon centre and now nothing shows up on the screen what do I need to do to resolve this I only have A few days left to return it as defective

Really just don’t want to do all the work of pulling it out but I need to be sure this is actually going to fix it

can you kindly PM me whatever solution you have In hopes that I can fix this

I received the tool via a PM and I think there must be a reason ... so I am just doing the same.

Let me add that yesterday I experienced again a complete black out of both all the ARGB connected through the motherboard (JRAINBOW1 and JRAINBOW2) plus the Dynamic Dashboard II

I solved with a "Clear CMOS" via the button on the I/O panel ...

Having briefly also tried the RGB of another vendor, I came to the idea that this RGB stuff is still immature and various vendor are making things worst because each have their proprietary system without a real standard. Some alternative projects (both open source and closed source) are trying to fill the gap with different results none of them yet a real solution.

Nevertheless MSI is producing wonderful motherboards that frankly speaking works pretty well ... I like to believe this is what I paid for.
If it was for the RGB, I believe 20$ for all the stuff that I have are enough.

Did you already try to clear CMOS? As I wrote in previous post with
Led FW: LED_OF
OLed FW: OLED_0D
I experienced a complete blackout of both ARGB connected to the motherboard and Dynamic Dashboard II; anyway clearing CMOS (plus a couple of reboot => no action taken with or in Dragon Center) to regain a full functional system.

Clear CMOS did not work for me. ARGB is functional but the display is not.

Regarding Corsair RAM RGB, please install iCUE and set the following

Reboot and you should be able to see again the RAM in Dragon Center Mystic Light tab.

So the tool that @Svet and @Furna have shared via PM seems to work, at least temporarily.

I've got the z490 godlike board with 4xRAM with LEDs and 10x Fans with LEDs (I'm using this 12-way LED hub for those interested). My original symptoms were basically losing the Dynamic Dashboard II OLED screen. I lost it when I updated my BIOS and LED FW at the same time via Dragon Center. After doing that, the Dynamic Dash II OLED just turned off, but everything else was fine. So, I used the tool and everything seemed to be OK for a while. I was also troubleshooting a graphics card issue, so I did a lot of system restarts and a couple of BIOS resets. I eventually lost all fan LEDs and even the MSI dragon LED on the upper left of the motherboard after multiple system restarts, and I'm not sure what the exact cause was or what action I may have taken that could have resulted in that other than perhaps resetting the bios settings. The system was basically dark, but the RAM would sometimes light up briefly at boot, but then turn off after a few seconds. So, I was ready to use the tool again.

Now, using the tool that these guys have found, it basically flashes older versions of the RGB controller and OLED controller. Yesterday, I tried the tool again and right now all of my LEDs and OLEDs are on and seem to be running OK. Here are the "stable" versions I'm experiencing using this tool (I put stable in quotes, because I'm writing this only 24 hours after flashing these files, lol):
  • RGB Controller Object Version: 7C70 v.0F
  • OLED Controller Object Version: v.0D
BIOS version 1.20

I opened a ticket to MSI, but their response was to RMA the board. Here's what really frustrates me: the issue seems most likely to be caused by flashing the new LED FW versions via MSI's own Dragon Center. Multiple posts across these forums and reddit confirm similar experiences. I don't accept the resolution to RMA this board for, what seems to be, an LED FW issue (and maybe in combination with a particular BIOS version). What I would like to see is an LED FW solution via Dragon Center that would fix the RGB and OLED controller issues.

Thank you to @Furna for the MSI Update Tool that seems to at least temporarily fix the issue. Has anyone else's system been fixed?

Also, one side note/question, I seem to be experiencing an issue where the LED lights will flicker off and on (about half a second) and I hear the USB disconnect noise from my audio channel. This happens about once per day. I'm not sure if it's related, but was curious if anyone else was experiencing this, too.

At first thanks must go to @Svet and MSI support as well (they provided to me the tool just a couple of days later than Svet).
I also have since October 2020
  • RGB Controller Object Version: 7C70 v.0F

I am running latest BIOS/UEFI ver 1.60
Anyway even with this "stable" RGB/OLED firmware, I experienced again a full blackout ... indeed I was able to resolve the issue just with a "clear CMOS".

Lately MSI support is asking to RMA the mainboard ... they may want to have a few samples to address the issue or they found some fault in the chipset.
Or maybe while opening the ticket you didn't specify you were able to see the firmware version (means the chipset is interface is still functioning correctly and can be reached/flashed from an OS)
Indeed if the chipset interface is not reachable; there is still an opportunity to re-program it via JT1 header https://gitlab.com/CalcProgrammer1/OpenRGB/-/wikis/MSI-Mystic-Light
but with dedicated hardware tool and same knowledge/experience.

Regarding the USB disconnect/connect noise: I was also hearing that sound until a few weeks ago ... now I do not hear it anymore ... probably because I updated Dragon Center (including Mystic Light and I think the driver). I still see a few seconds after I logon (yes I have a password on my Windows account) all RGB switching off and immediately on. Seems Mystic Light is taking control of the chipset after it's self initialization.
It makes sense to me since https://gitlab.com/CalcProgrammer1/OpenRGB/-/wikis/MSI-Mystic-Light states the Nuvoton micro controller in use exposes himself as an USB device.

All in all everything is running fine for me, so I didn't investigate further ...

Has anyone tried flashing the BIOS back to 1.0? If I lose LED or OLED functionality again, I may try this as a next step since I didn't experience any issues running this version in the past.

Also, I know this board has two BIOS images, but they both seem to be on 1.20 for me, and so I experience the issue on both images.
Keep in mind BIOS images ver 1.20 and 1.30 have security bug in their ME firmware that has been addressed in ver 1.60
I do not know if flashing back to older BIOS ver will also restore the ME firmware to the buggy ones ...
In case you want to try please check with HWInfo the ME firmware version before flashing back and after ...

Also in my experience a simple "clear CMOS" is restoring full functionalities with current version of RGB/OLED firmware ... since flashing a BIOS will also clear CMOS, you wil never be sure what solves the issue .. is the clear CMOS or the previous BIOS version ?
