Hey all i recently bought a GeForce 4 MX440 out of some spare money..... my computer specs now are:
CPU: Amd Athlon 2000
DDR Ram: 768MB
HDDs: 1x30 2x55 Total: 140GB
Motherboard: Gigabyte
Monitor: 19 Inch
GFX: MSI GeFore 4 MX440
the question im asking, because i play qauke 3 alot... im not happy with my fps.. its as if its capped at 60fps... is there any way how to get it higher i can remember with my previous card i could hit 120 with it, please answer back asap

right in the console type

/cl_maxfps X (x equals the number of frames u want)

this will give u more frames



/r_lodBias -2 // don't use lower detail models.
/r_subdivisions 1 // lots more triangles in curves.
/r_lodCurveError 10000 // don't drop curve rows for a long time.
/vid_restart

these settings will give the best possible image quality in game :D
 
Vsync is probobly enabled (which is a good thing to prevent omag tearing) but it limits your FPS to the refresh rate.


You should use a refresh rate fix to allow 85Hz or more on your monitor so you will get a more stable picture and a smoother effect.


For raw FPS you can disable Vsync in the driver but it will cause screen tearing which is bad.
