Something wrong with MSI (or Nahimic) microphone tuning?

1. Turning on microphone often malfunctions to lower the speaker volume.

Sometimes laptop speaker volume hears too low, but I cannot pinpoint why.

I'm personally guessing there's something wrong with MSI's (including the Nahimic's) microphone tuning to negatively interact with the speakers - just my guess, cannot be sure.

If this is a bug, I hope fixed in next update (GE66 10SFS).

Is that normal to have just blank options in Microphone Noise Cancellation?

Even sometimes I see the position of that blank between Speaker and Microphone Noise Cancellation switches. .. really have no clue about why.

As a result I had no other option but to just turn off Windows 10 microphone and reset audio setting to recover enough speaker volume.

I also wonder whether other MSI users are using Speakers and Microphones tuning together without issue.

2. Can I use the Spatial sound with Nahimic's effects simultaneously?

According to its MSI Nahimic webpage (https://www.msi.com/page/nahimic), it by itself supports 7.1 surround effects.

Then is it worth to turn on that 'Windows Sonic for Headphones' option?

For question 1, what version of the Dragon Center?
Try to clean install the Dragon Center.
In addition, I heard that there is a new version of the Nahimic after few days.
Maybe you can update Nahimic and check the issue again.

Still the same after the clean reinstallation.

Knowledge Base No. 3737 is outdated. Step 6 and 7 are no longer necessary.

Windows 10 (the latest 20H2) automatically installed the MSI SDK after DC.

After that reinstallation I couldn't hear any sound then I fixed it with Windows 10 troubleshoot.

There is no such problem with my laptop.
Try to clean install the relative audio drivers (Realtek audio driver, Nahimic driver, Nahimic, Realtek audio console).
Guide: https://www.msi.com/faq/notebook-3640
I know how to use the DDU, but a download site linked in pdf is not available now.

When I click 'Before starting the process, please check Nahimic 3 supported model lists: MSI Notebooks', it does not include GE66 in its list.

I'm afraid what if I worsen the situation if I proceed on that guide. (Even though I heard that GE66 is a successor to GE65.)

MSI needs to update its guides to catch up with the latest Windows 10 updates.

Anyhow thanks for all your information given.

* question added: is that 'noise cancellation' of Dragon Center a function of Nahimic?

That’s not the latest version of Realtek audio driver.
Try to update v9013.

I always feel thankful to your help and advice. But I just wonder why that's not the latest version driver. Every time I only get the updates installed through Dragon Center, and even device manager does not recognize any newer version of that Realtek driver.

As you see, my current drive is even newer (8975 > 8945) than the one uploaded onto GE66 official download page.

It is good if I have the latest version installed, but I just worry what if it messes up my laptop unintentionally.

only drivers ? or complete MSI

when create rescue point -not problem test any last driver
,,,when is problem MICROPHONE -check microphone in windows setting
drivers not help -exist only OEM "windows drivers" for some models

old control panel ,,,sound ,,,record - microphone -properties or advanced
check all here :-)

,,edit
the path may not be exactly - translation "sound setting in old control panel""windows app"

I got the latest driver from MSI technical support.
Maybe you can try to update it to clarify
Maybe you can update to see if it is caused by Realtek audio driver.

There is a new version of Dragon Center (.92) in the Microsoft store.
You could also try to update it.
