Sound drivers for WXP 64

Had to change machines to get info
Most of the upto date drivers I get are from
http://planetamd64.com/
who have most drivers for this board. worth a visit.

At PlanetAMD64 I noticed "VIA Audio Driver" being said to be the latest one among those listed. I downloaded and attempted to install but it did not install. There is a comment by bas saying it is much better than Realteck driver. I wonder why I could not install it.
Next I tried Realteck driver which is listed along with the above and it installed OK. But I am still interested in "VIA Audio Driver". Is this driver for AMD64/WXp-32bit but not for AMD64/WXP-64bit? I would like to know why I could not install it.

I had some troubles to install it too, but after several attempts it worked....
To bad I forgot how I did install it.....

The latest sound drivers are here, the realtek one is the one I use

Hi Jocko,
The Realtek drivers don't work correctly with Skype and crash a lot....
The VIA drivers are much better, but a bit harder to install :lol_anim:

I just checked what I am using, is in a via file, the hyperion 4 in 1, its called rtlaudio, it seems to work, sounds good, no crashes, solid.
I was thinking of buying a couple more KT8s, but you say new board and chips on way, so might wait and see, any opinion?

Try Skype in XP64 with the realtek drivers, it's a mess.....
