Hi,

I have MSI GX700X-255EU (1719x) with nVIDIA 8600M GT and on all sites and my reseler (and MSI site also) have information that resolution of this graphic card is 1680 X 1050 without virtualscreen option (it mean that this is larges support resolution on this screen/graphic card). I try different version of WinXP OS and different version of driver for all motherboard, graphic card, ... and I can not set up resolution greater that 1440 X 900, does someone have an idea how to solve this problem???

P.S. On same laptop GX700X-099EU all work fine with any instalation of WinXP and driver CD, a realy try everuthing I know, please help!  :shocking:

Thanks in advance...

Depends on the max resolution the screen can do.

WSXGA or WUXGA screen, gives 1440x900 or 1920x1200.

Looks to me you have the lowest of the 2, else it would go higher.

Hi,

Ok, I agree with that qnswer, but both display support 1920x1200 in virtual screen mode, when i move mouse I can seen whole screen, but in "normal reolution" max is 1440x900 on first and 1680x1050 on secound MSI laptop! Is there some solution to solve this "problem" because I was take this laptop (GX700X-255EU) because speed performance and some internet tests over GX700X-099EU all components are same in both cases only display resolution is "problem"?

In short, I can't back my laptop, can I set resolution to 1680x1050 and how can I know which monitor I have!

Thnaks again for help!!!  :emot-tip-wink:

Virtual size has nothing to do with it, that can be any number.
Real size is the max the screen can do.

I have no clue what the other laptop is, but it probably has a higher resolution screen.

I think your screen is the 1440x900, so for that screen it will not go over that.
Components have nothing to do with it, it's the screen-native-resolution that determines the max you can set on the laptop screen.
