Stealth A16 AI+ - AMD - microphone disappears

Had all stock drivers from MSI and had screen glitching on Windows login after Windows update, installed AMD drivers from this thread (glitching got fixed).
Issue appeared after AMD drivers auto-install.
Issue fixed by rolling back driver for Device Manager > System Devices > AMD Audio CoProcessor (it will have an ! icon next to it).

I know this is not the best practice, but I turned off all Windows updates with Group Policy Editor (Windows Pro and Enterrprice).
Had a sour experience of good laptops turning very bad (hardware issues in some cases) after automatic Windows updates.
Otherwice all custom drivers (like Realtek) and likely this fix will be reverted.

Would highly appreciate the permanent fix for this

Maybe you have missed my previous post about the bios (or I wasn't very clear).
See this post:
Bios v110 is supposed to solve Microphone disappearing issue (but I have not been able to test it myself yet).

Were you able to test the BIOS fix? I don't want to install BIOS hoping it will fix anything without knowing for sure. My system is quite stable aside of this issue.

Additional information - the issue re-appeared after plugging in a vape in USB port to the left, so it seems to be related to power management. Don't recommend plugging in anything for charging into the laptop. My GPU was running computation and after that everything has switched to integrated graphics and CPU computation, until I installed Windows updates. The microphone is now broken again, but CoProcessor is working "as expected". The AMD Bluetooth Audio Device is now in error state.

Would appreciate any suggestions in this regard

Update - BIOS has fixed the microphone. However, it broke playback :) After unsuccessful installation of recommended Reatek drivers and Nahimic, I resorted to removing Nahimic, uninstalling Realtek drivers, and restoring default High Definition audio device (Device Manager > Sound, video and game controllers > Realtek(R) Audio > Update Driver > Browse my computer for drivers > Let me pick from a list of available drivers > High Definition Audio Device)
After restart it applied, and sound was back! I had to create a restore point (Win+R > SystemPropertiesProtection > Enable > Create restore point) and restore to that after another restart, because Windows automatically restored it to Realtek
No matter how hard I tried to use Realtek, none of the versions worked for me, and none of them actually produced sound

You would need to update AMD graphics driver to version 32.0.13022.5002 with the BIOS update as well, it is related to the audio.

Try to install all of the audio drivers and clean install AMD graphics driver to the version on MSI website.
Use the AMD clean up utility to remove the AMD drivers.
It was the BIOS. I had to update it to: E15FKAMS.110
In Windows + R > msinfo32 check for the version where it says: BIOS Version/Date American Megatrends International, LLC. E15FKAMS.110, 2/17/2025
This fixed the disappearing microphone. I hope this helps others as well.

Has anyone found a solution for this? I updated graphics driver as requested but now my mic won't work at all, I have tried everything mentioned above and other possible solutions as best I could but to no avail. I only have the laptop month but purchased 2nd hand through Refurbed, very frustrating.

One of the things that is always throwing off if IO device select: right bottom bar icons (WiFi, Sound, Battery) > Select a Sound Output (the 2 wire plugs) - make sure your device is selected appropriately.

Do you see the mute microphone button light up no matter if you press it? Have you tried Safe Mode?
Also did you end up updating BIOS?
If you tried all those, try: Device Manager > Rollback drivers and installing new drivers like this: Device Manager > Sound, video and game controllers > Realtek(R) Audio > Update Driver > Browse my computer for drivers > Let me pick from a list of available drivers > High Definition Audio Device

Where did you get BIOS 316, I can only find E15FKAMS.315 on MSI website.

Try to do EC reset and run Windows update.
Make sure you have clean installed the AMD graphics driver to the version on MSI website, installing the latest AMD graphics driver will cause the speaker stop to work.

I got the new BIOS it on the MSI website for my model, it took a few tries to get it right, the drivers need to be manually installed at the same time i think, i got someone to help me fix it, sorry i am unable to explain better. I did a factory reset, however the new BIOS gave an issue with the windows key, but we fixed that issue also. The problem initially was the mic, got the mic working and then the speakers stopped. all due to downlading the graphinc driver from AMD.

Please confirm you have selected the output device to your desired output.
Also if you are using Nahimic, please check the output settings.
If both are OK, reinstall Realtek drivers from AMD website (make sure to select your laptop model) https://www.msi.com/Laptop/Stealth-..._product=Stealth-A16-AIplussign-A3HVGG#driver
