Greetings good people,

I have been rocking an X670e Tomahawk for almost 2 years now, Recently, about 10 days or so, I upgraded the BIOS to ver. 7E12v1H, which is the latest at the time of typing this. I also reinstalled a copy of Windows 11. All is well execpt that sometimes when I boot my PC from a cold boot, the PC takes longer than normal to boot into Windows and windows feels very sluggish like even the mouse pointer jumps around and clicking or trying to open any app feels impossible—turning the PC off then on again from a cold boot fixes this.
PC specs :

7800X3d
2x32GB DDR5 6000T Gskill RAM
4080 SuprimX
512 GB Samsung 960 pro SSD for booting
2TB Kingston Fury SSD
1TB Samsung EVO 840 SATA
1TB Seagate HD
Antec 1350w PSU

An update, the issue is not only a sluggish graphical problem but also an overall system performance drop. During an episode of this issue I tried to open CPU-Z and GPU-Z, and they both took a very long time to start.

Sounds like the same problem a lot of people are happening with "PCI-E" training. Next time it happens, open up GPU-Z and look at the bus interface, I bet it'll show 1.1-2.0.

No real fix for this, though some people have had some luck by enabling spread spectrum in their BIOS.

I will keep you updated about it. I currently flashed the new firmware and only had a couple of reboot cycles. I need to test it for at least a week, hopefully, the low performance and laggy experience will be gone. Fingers crossed!

I updated to the new bios as well. Wanted to see if things would still be smooth. Settings to default...upgraded to 1.10...rebooted. Entered bios at message that settings changed...set everything up the way I used to...PBO enabled...igpu disabled...memory to XMP and fan speeds all set up. Lots of changes...hit save and reboot and got some odd text message and error. So I rebooted...went back into the bios...no changes were saved...so as I set each setting the way I wanted...saved and moved to the next thing. Once totally done with my settings...hit save and reboot and all was fine. Went back into the bios to check that the setting were as I set them....all good. So far, pretty smooth. Even played around with Curve Optimizer -25 and got a little extra boost out of all cores to 5050 on my 7800X3D. Would be interested in knowing what everyone else experiences. I think this bios is a keeper

I am actually quite pleased with this update. I am contemplating an upgrade to the 9950X3D chip on the board...just wondering if there would also be an advantage to upgrading to faster memory (I have 32 GB of DDR5-6000 CL30).
