Suggestion: Add Downward Task Lighting to Future MSI Monitors
Hello MSI Team,I want to offer a usability suggestion based on real‑world experience with my new MSI monitor (MAG325CQXF E2). This is not about RGB aesthetics — it’s about ergonomics and practical workspace design.
The Problem: Modern Multi‑Monitor Setups Create Dark Desk Areas
With large displays, especially curved or multi‑monitor layouts, the area directly beneath the monitors becomes a shadowed zone. This makes it harder to see the keyboard, documents, and small desk items without adding a separate lamp or LED strip. External lighting solutions introduce their own issues, including extra power bricks, cable clutter, adhesive strips that age poorly, awkward placement, and inconsistent lighting. For users who value clean, minimal, and ergonomic workspaces, these DIY solutions are more trouble than they are worth. The Opportunity: Functional, Downward‑Facing Task Lighting
MSI already includes LED elements on many monitors, but they are typically rear‑facing and decorative. A subtle, downward‑facing LED bar integrated under the bezel would provide real functional value by gently illuminating the desk surface, reducing eye strain in dim rooms, improving visibility of the keyboard and workspace, eliminating the need for external lamps or LED strips, maintaining a clean and cable‑free setup, and providing a soft ambient glow without distracting the user. This would turn lighting from a cosmetic feature into a true ergonomic enhancement. Why This Matters
Many users — especially those who work long hours, use multiple displays, or prefer a clean and organized desk — would benefit more from integrated task lighting than from decorative RGB effects. This feature would meaningfully differentiate MSI monitors by being practical, subtle, productivity‑focused, universally useful, and easy to market as an ergonomic improvement. Even a low‑power, warm‑white LED strip with adjustable brightness would make a noticeable difference.Closing Thoughts
My MSI monitor has been excellent overall, and this suggestion reflects my appreciation for the hardware. A small addition like this could significantly improve the day‑to‑day experience for many users.Thank you for considering this idea — I hope it’s helpful as you plan future models.
